Hypothetically: What if Koggy's Ult worked like Corki's Q?

So instead of a delayed AoE akin to Brand's flame pillar, it's instead a missile that travels to the target location and then explodes. The missile speed could increase with rank a bit to keep its delay before hitting at maximum range more or less the same. That would make it a little more reliable against closer foes with the downside that abilities like Windwall would be able to block it. It would also improve the readability of the attack a little more so opponents can tell where it's coming from and where it's headed.

That, and I think making a big artillery round that sails through the air in a ballistic arc and then explodes would look a lot cooler than the thing just dropping straight out of the sky.

i don't think kogs ult needs a change. Why propose this?

It would be a slight buff to the reliability of Kog's damage while also increasing the readability of the attack (DESIGN CLARITY BUZZWORDS).

Actually buffing Koggy's damage is a bad idea (I still have no idea wtf they were thinking with the Q change), but making his high damage a little more reliable would be nice.

Meh, sounds way too similar to Xerath's ult, with a 3 second cooldown. Maybe a visual update would be nice but the delay makes his ult much more fun and counterable.

I feel that making a change that punishes you for closing the gap to Kog would not be a good idea.

To elaborate: Kog is supposed to be a long range high-damage threat. His weakness is his lack of mobility/CC/Tankiness, leaving him open to being closed upon and killed. Punishing players for doing what they should be doing is the kind of thing Riot tries to avoid. (With varying degrees of success.)

I see where you're coming form with that, but closing on Koggy has become relatively trivial over the years. Back when he was made and high mobility was at a preium his range really helped to protect him. But in this day and age what's going to stop Fizz or Zed from ruining his day?

Aside from that, Koggy has always had an aspect of 'I'm really dangerous at close range' with his old Q and Innate. Unfortunately some of that was lost with the Q change. As crazy as it might sound, I would rather have the old Q back over the incarnation he has right now.

Yay, yet another boring linear skillshot. Part of what makes Kog's ult. fun is being able to hit targets behind someone/something else. His ult. is already VERY readable and fairly easy to dodge. There's nothing wrong with Kog's kit right now. All he needs is minor number buffs.

I said Corki's Q, not Corki's R.

I still don't see the point of this. Don't fix what isn't broken.
