Lose 1 Game. Win 4. 0 Progress.
So as the title says I lost 1 game then 4 won (in a row) and all it did was get me back to where I was before that loss. Obviously this isn't how it is all the time. I lost and was demoted, had to win twice to trigger promo series, win 2 more to win promos. The problem is that there's no scenario where you win 1 game and lose 4 and end up where you were before the win. In ranked play you never get a win streak bonus but there are times where you effectively lose MORE than normal due to a losing streak.
This fact makes it hard to advance at times even with a positive game record. It's highly demoralizing, depends entirely on luck, and I can't find any justification for it. If I won a game, lost a game, then won 3 more games instead of going 1 loss then 3 wins I'd be FAR better off.
Shouldn't the LP I would normally get but don't because I'm in a promo series at least carry over if I win the promo? LP losses incurred during a failed promo series don't just not happen because it's a promo series, you're stuck with them.
Anyone know 100% for sure if how much LP you win or lose is affected by your performance in the game or if it's just based on the MMRs of the players involved? I doubt it does, and I can understand why. Perhaps the system they're using for Champion Mastery would work in regards to LP gains/losses.
tl;dr - The lp and promo system is bullshit. Why can we be hurt extra by loss streaks but gain nothing extra from win streaks?
