Why can we ban nothing?

I don't understand Riot's thought process. They removed random champion button, but now we can ban NOTHING? The only time someone will actually ban...ahem NOTHING... is when they get auto filled and want to take Champ select hostage. Why is this even a thing???

How would "banning nothing" keep champ select hostage? Whats wrong with banning nothing?

Not entirely sure, but the ban nothing feature has surprised me.

Last night I faced a draft where the enemy team banned nothing. The entire team. I dodged because it didn't seem like a coincidence, assuming they were a big premade.

Its more for people who dont care to ban anything because they dont mind laning against anything.

Also to avoid threads like these:

A lot of people were complaining how they dont have choice to "not ban a champion" so Riot listened

Why would you ever want to ban Nothing in a competitive scene? The only people who would do that, is someone who wants to let an OP ban through, and make their team dodge. Theres no purpose for it.

There are people who dont consider anything OP pick. I myself often ban Nasus, not because i consider it OP pick, but because i use ZZ rot tactic and Nasus loves ZZ rot.

I would suspect it's to avoid someone dodging during ban phase, and there is no way to auto pick a ban. Maybe, possibly, could be?

U still dodge if u dont ban anything. U actually need to click on icon NOTHING to ban nothing.

Ok, I did not know that. I've never used the no ban option.

Because if you want to ban "nothing" you can still ban a never played champion like urgot so, who cares if you ban urgot or if you ban nothing ?
