the more you get ahead, the harder it should be, not easier

This season is broken. Snowball is the rule of the day, rather than continual good play. You get ahead, and it becomes easier. That is broken. The further you are ahead, the harder it should be to win, not the easier. That way, good players win, not players that get an early advantage. Get ganked twice and you lose your lane. Burst become so powerful they kill in a single combo, even with >1500 health. That is just wrong. Unless of course you are so far ahead that the underdog has way more items. It would be simple ... gold is flat, unless you are killed, in which case your rebirth gets an inheritance. Reverse the way gold is awarded ... or reduce the ratios for a champ that gets a kill (especially ad on hit).

What?

So you should be punished for being ahead and rewarded for playing suboptimally? I will agree that this season is MUCH more snowbally than previous incarnations. But it's silly to say:

"You get ahead, and it becomes easier. That is broken."

Not playing less than your best, but balance needs to be dynamic within a game. I find I'm often doing more damage, dying less, and helping more than the rest of my team, but once one of them gets behind, they are an easy mark, and they keep getting killed all the time. Which they means the enemy team gets stronger all around. There needs to be more balance ... so that if you have imbalance inside a single game, that it gets balanced during the game.

This season is the worst season. The opposite of snowball would be appropriate. As a team gets ahead, the other team gains more in some way. I don't care how. But it would make sense if it were just not possible for someone to come in and in one combo kill a champion in under a second (100-0 in a single combination) even if it means introducing an item that reduces damage to no more than x% per second from all sources (i.e., it you have it and x is 20, then it takes at least 5 second to kill that champion) would need to be longer than what the longest suppress is (and perhaps even locks out cc at half the time to kill).

This season is broken. Way to much damage and snowball. Riot is thinking wrong when they did the "make the objectives really worthwhile" without thinking "we have to nerf high damage at the same time."

is this a "shitpost," we don't stand for that sort of thing here

He's just following the example set by Bernie Sanders.

ha, no, that is a shitpost

It's true tho, Sanders is a socialist. That, basically, is what op is suggesting.

So your idea is that killing your lane opponent punishes you?

fasega1 votes

I think he is complaining about being ganked by a jungler and losing lane.

I'm really complaining about snowballing. It needs to end totally makes the game not fun even when you win.

fasega1 votes

well they made changes this season to give the 2 people who are most behind free gold and experience. The games are faster paced but that doesn't mean they are snowballing. Really all riot did was force interaction between the players by making it so if you don't end the game with your lead the winning team can lose the game in a teamfight, thanks to the longer death timers.

For example I am a jungle main and when they changed the passive from free gold to experience instead it forced me to start ganking more instead of power farming which is what riot wants. they want more interaction this was intended.

Plasma Servant1 votes

and that stinks. The longer death timers mean the games are shorter. That stinks. It stinks that riot is forcing anything. They should NOT get in the way of how the game is played.

it forced me to start ganking more instead of power farming which is what riot wants.

That is the core problem. They should not want anything other than what the players want. They should ask US if the game needs to change before they change anything.

EcchiOtakuTM1 votes

The real issue is they made the game faster but not adjust the death timers in addition, I mean they literally had to improve jungle and various other stuff spawn timers (Like Skarner's shrines) but fully forgot to fix death timers to help in reflecting the changes.

I know how you feel I main Master Yi and I can tell you from experience people hate farming junglers as they focus more on objective control. All laners care about is getting ganks to get them feed and making their "OP dreams come true".

You're right. You should be punished for doing well

Stephenizgod1 votes

Lol uh no, the better you do the easier it should be because you are ahead, you have more gold and more objective control. Now there should be no mechanics in-game to make it easier (such as the minions being stronger the more turrets you destroy; weak papier-mache turrets) because then it removes any possibility for a come back. The winning team should definitely have an easier time though not a harder one.

Plasma Servant1 votes

NO. handicap the underdog. If nothing else, it shouldn't be easier. remove the gold on kills

Stephenizgod1 votes

The winning team deserves to be winning... Like i said these built in mechanics that make it easier to snowball are bad mechanics but overall a Winning team should have the advantage.

Plasma Servant1 votes

If they truly are better, they will still win. but not by a landslide ... which unless you are 12 is not fun to win that way either.

Stephenizgod1 votes

Ok but in a competitive game like League it is not fair to give the losing team a handicap, that makes no sense. If you need a handicap you already don't deserve to win. If you are winning you should have all the advantages you have earned, which in this game is gold (to buy items) and objectives (such as Baron and Dragon).

I disagree so hard with this bullshit type of ideology where "we can win by playing like ass but we scale harder somehow"

Plasma Servant1 votes

If a team is better, they will still win. It just won't because someone happened to die once, and therefore lost the lane ... and the game because of snowballing. It will be because they are consistently better, not just once in a while and then snowball.
