I just got out of a game where my team had 4 bots. I don't care what they are trying to do, but the reports with someone saying it was a bot need to be investigated (i.e., looked at to see if it is true) and if it is, just delete the account. No warning. It was a waste of my time, and no, they have no right to do that.
Ban not only that account, but any other account with the same email address as the account holder. Yes, it is that bad a behavior.

It sucks to deal with bots on your team and a ban should be enforced, but the punishment needs to fit the crime - it's really not that severe a crime.

you realize bots are very literally intentional feeding and throwing games. Not only that but I'm pretty sure bot accounts are just being leveled up and sold to other people too lazy to lvl an account to 30, which is super easy these days. I agree that botted accounts should be deleted without warning and accounts that are linked to it should receive behavioral punishments and potential permanent bans if they've shown to exhibit previous unacceptable levels of behavior. There really has to be a line drawn and the botting assholes to be made to stop at the risk of actual consequences.
Chosen0Pessimist2 votesI would agree with taking action DEPENDING ON THE GAME MODE! If the bot is ruining ranked games, then yes that is bad. Normals... I can see where that is annoying but eh... Not worth a huge punishment at all in my mind. Now if it bots being used in AI matches just to level them up to sell them after they hit 30 (which I see absolutely nothing wrong with. It isn't easy to level an account. That shit takes forever) then I think they should be allowed to do as they please! If they stick to AI games, leave the bots alone. Zero punishment.

They play it to be playing with 4 other human summoners and have fun. Having 3 ai bots on your team is NOT having fun. Punish those who intentionally ruin others fun, waste their time, and use programs that violate the user agreement.

What exactly is leveling up an account fairly? Me being someone who uses multiple smurf accounts, I HATE leveling. It is the most boring shit to do. My last account I leveled took me over a year to even get to level 21 because I hate leveling that badly. There should be an option to just be able to get level 30 accounts for people like me who only play ranked and don't want to waste my time leveling an account. If the bots are done right, there aren't any issues of any kind.
Taeseuk1 votesOkay so for example if you're a newish player, you use boys to help you learn the game a little more. You're on a tea and two of the people on the team are bots, this means that you have only 2 there human players on the team. It also means that whatever position the bot takes is in constant need for help because bots do not play properly. It also means if you watch how they play you learn how to play the game badly and you may not know any different if you are a new player. Plus if they always need help and you're new chances are you don't have the skill to really help since you're using this game mode to learn and if neither of the two human players on your team have the skill either it can make a bot game very frustrating.
Having been in a team where I've had 3 bots and only one other human player and that human player only being level 2 and clearly new at the game I can tell you that bots in ai are extremely annoying to deal with when they're on your team, if I wanted a game of all bots I'd make a custom game. I play ai to level up and play with a team of humans not bots.
And honestly it just sounds like you want to be lazy/do this yourself so you don't want repercussions because it screw you over if they did.
Plasma Servant3 votesYou obviously don't know people that don't like pvp in league. You might not think like they do, but I know quite a few people that don't like the trolls and salt in pvp games. There is less in ai games (if only because there are supposed to be 5 and only 5 humans in the game). Ban the account temp ban the tied account, and then permanently ban if it is a repeat offender. You don't know (or have the right) to dictate how people play the game.

It needs to fit the crime ... you wasted a ton of time for someone because they don't want to leave, but are forced to play in a game that can't possibly win. Delete the bot account, and ban any tied account on 1st instance. There is no excuse for wasting someone else's time just to save your own, or worse, make money from selling the account. I'd be surprised if it isn't an actual felony offense (federal computer crimes laws are very unforgiving in terms of intentionally violating terms of agreement in order to benefit ... if money changed hands, it is a felony).

They're selling these accounts and people use em to troll n not care much cuz really what is 20 or 30 bucks? A few packs of cigs? Who cares if you report me, I'll just be good for a few games and be a low key troll to piss people off without being too obvious the rest of the time cuz idc about this account. If I have to spend hundreds of games levelling an account, why do these people get 10 accounts levelled at once for free, no time commitment, and ruin tons of games in the process? I don't see how botting is not that severe. Banning them is a perfect fit for the crime. It's so obviously wrong and people do it anyways, so having that account banned should not be a suprise if they get caught.

Riot has to check before issuing a punishment. They can check their CS. Playpatterns and all other good stuff. TO determine if the player is botting. You can say he's botting, and it turns out he wasn't and could be a false punishment. Thats where the investigation comes in.

Telephone Booth1 votesI completely agree with you. I actually love it when bots are on my team in vs ai. Funnest game I had was with 3 bots and a human draven that disconnected. If I didn't pick kogmaw that may have been impossible to win but since I was kogmaw it was fun as hell to struggle against a pack of 5 fed bots (it's crazy how they stick together when they get fed and just push down mid).
That being said, it's just flat out wrong. You should not be able to level up an account while not even playing the game. It's just cheating. It's breaking the ToS, so by definition, it's just cheating. Whether you think it should be allowed or not is another story. I wish they would actually investigate my reports because I don't report just for bad playing... I've grown to be able to tell when it's a bot I'm pretty sure. Now there's bots that even talk to deceive and avoid detection. But all they say is Push or WTF. Lol and they say it sometimes when nothing even happened.
So please riot, when I report for cheating and say I'm pretty sure this is a script/leveling bot, please take it seriously and actually look at it. If their match history is all 0/11 or 0/9 with hardly any cs, the only thing they say in chat log is push or wtf, and all their games are vs ai, look at one of their games and their patterns and you'll see its a bot. Ban that shit. ARAM bots might be trickier to detect. I had a game with a blitz bot that I'm really not 99% sure if it was a bot but I'm preeetty sure it was. It just acted a lot differently than a vs ai bot.
It's not like Riot benefits from these botted accounts. It hurts the community overall. If you don't care about your account that much, and they're easy to get to 30, trolling is gonna be a lot more prevelant. People have to feel like they have a lot to lose by trolling or being excessively toxic, otherwise why wouldn't you do it? (Other than good people who just don't get off on fucking with people)
