...Why is nobody complaining about maokai's w? if someone launches something at him he can press w. is it because he has to go to a champion and he does not deal a whole buttload of damage with it? on that note, what about vladimir's troll POOL? that does a fair amount of damage. that is much more telegraphed and doesn't do burst damage, and you can get out of it quite easily. is that why that ability is not a problem?

because vlad and maoki are both fairly balanced at the moment right now. Fizz's E alone isnt toxic, but when combined with his skills and playstyle it becomes problematic.

For two reasons.

Maokai's is a short-range, targeted spell while Fizz's is a free-roam dash.
Maokai is a bruiser mage that doesn't tend to instagib people, but he's tanky as hell so when he does kill someone, it's not likely that they'll kill him with a parting shot. Fizz is an assassin that can rack up a kill count and then escape the parting shot, which seems to induce a few hundred metric tons of salty tears from his opponents.

I'm not saying Fizz is perfect, but the community overreacts to one champion being able to do a thing, while entirely forgetting that another champion can do that thing, too.

Also the duration of Maokai is based on how far he has to go, things don't actually drop target from him, but if they hit him while he is under he's immune.

So there are actually pre-requisites to effectively using it. Where Fizz has none.

I think Fizz E is a lot stronger, due to the fact he can go over walls with it. Maokai's W used to do the same, but its range is a lot shorter now, and if you go over a wall, it might be thanks to an enemy flash that got you in a bad position (Happened to me :/ )

and no not really. all those abilities give invulnerability, which can negate lots of damage for a time

because when fizz E's your health bar chunks and he can also walk through minions and he is strong at all points of the game almost. and vlad give 20% of his current health for his troll pool.

thanks for the comments. Like I said, don't get me wrong, with his troll pole combined with the rest of his kit, it's kind of a lot stupid. And also like I hope was clear, I'm pretty sure I knew why the other invulnerability moves were not being complained about.
