I'm sorry Vayne mains.

As a new Vayne Main, I can definitely say that I was wrong about everything. She is not busted. She can be poked, bursted down, and locked down easily. Her kiting potential certainly is great, but she requires a lot of skill to play. If anything, she's like the Riven of Botlane, only much harder. A true champion that only the best of the best, the cream of the crop, can master.

You need to know how her combos work, how to autoattack cancel, how and when to tumble, and where to position yourself at all times. She's not like Caitlyn who can just sit back and auto attack safely from a distance. She needs to really get in there and to make sure she sticks to her target from an effective yet safe zone.

She has the lowest AA range out of all the ADCs and I didn't realize how much that mattered until I started playing her. You have to be smart to play Vayne, she's by no means a champion a silver scrub like me could pick up in a day, or week, or even months. There's so much intricate data that comes to mind when playing Vayne with all the mental math you have to do to correctly gauge your damage output.

I couldn't have been more wrong. But now, humbled by my experience playing Vayne, I can definitely say she is outright the most difficult champion to play in all of League of Legends.

I'm sorry to all of the Vayne mains out there that I've irresponsibly trashed online. I should've known better.

Wait Vayne has combo's? Auto attack reseting is difficult?

I can't say she's like the Riven of bot lane. More like the Vladimir of bot lane. Her basic mechanics are fairly simple, but pulling it off is really hard due to low range. And of course, you gotta make sure not to dash into projectiles. That's like Vlad because they're both weak early, so you need to know how to farm safely and when to go for trades/all ins, and they both have sort farming range. Dodging stuff with Q and pooling to dodge isn't that hard, except you need to make sure not to Q into other projectiles or Q too early (if you're not in range to get that auto off, your Q doesn't go on CD, so you're much less mobile). Like how Vlad needs to decide what he's better off tanking and what he should W, and beware of eating projectiles when coming out of W.

I'm not saying Vayne isn't hard. Vlad is insanely difficult. So is Vayne. Just not in the same way as a Riven.

As a Riven main, Riven difficulty is far more in the way of actual mechanics, combo's and animation canceling. She plays like any other bruiser for pretty much the entire early game, and later on she either takes the playstyle of an assassin or a more mobile, higher damage, bruiser. Her actual playstyle is not something you have to learn very much, you can take dumb trades and not be punished as hard as a Vayne would be. Any time you could go in with another bruiser is a good time for Riven. Her main difficulty lies in the flashy combo's, the trades that keep you CC'd and leave you with little room to retaliate, and the oneshots.

Vlad isn't that hard but I have 200 games played as vlad so maybe that's why I find him to be easy.
