This game is lacking of skilled players in platinum - low diamond elo

I remember back when I used to play this game you were a mechanically sound and know the premise of the game pretty well, but now when I am playing these games against and with mid to high platinum players they all seem really, really not good. Sometimes I will get that good teammate who gets fed in lane because hes good at mechanics but I still find myself having to explicitly make every fucking call just to get these mongoloids to come along when its time to call baron, or take towers, just little details that you should know if you are gonna be out of low elo.

I know this rant is really pointless but I just couldn't help but notice how awful both in the sense of game IQ and mechanically all the plat or d5 players I get matched with are. Maybe this is due to the ease of buying a high elo account these days, or boosting, but I have only encountered maybe 2 or 3 players on either team who were respectable in my past probably 10 games against or with all platinum players.

This is because of the concept of plebius quod valuerit. If there were a large number of skilled players in platinum, the "pyramid" would crumble, and the overall MMR would be adjusted to place most of those players in lower tiers. You're in a high elo, so the number of skilled teammates you get is going to be lower by quantitative desideratum.

Back in the day there were fewer players also.

I think your a bit wrong regarding this one. Players simply got better over the years and teamwork just got buffed. A few years ago you could get challenger just based on your mechanical skill. Right now this is a lot different since mechanical play just means more stability for that game and is not longer the primary wincondition. The macro is lackluster because higher mmr just figured out how to be Hai slaves. It's just said when their is no Hai around in that game.

Diamond 5 is a cesspool of boosted apes. Plat is just glorified Gold. Don't expect much.

Why would you have a cesspool of boosted apes in diamond? Wouldn't they all just fall back down to low elo after they started playing a lot?

If they don't then that only proves that your teammates matter more than you do for keeping you at your elo. Which also inversely means good players are stuck in elo hell held back by thier teammates unless they learn how to hard carry snowball thier way out of it before they switch to more team oriented roles.
