Illaoi is a tad strong (slightly salty post but give it a chance for some discussion please)

I just played a game against an illaoi, i played nasus against her, and how many times she could reset that passive on me is unbelievable. I believe it should have a timer on how long it can be before she can reset it on champion because the worst part about it is whn im at low health i cant even back from my lane or get xp under turret without the risk of her q'ing me or having another tenticle spawn. for how often she is able to reset it, trying to duel her when she has it on me is impossible. I out farmed this illaoi and yet when i go to duel her, at the same level she just ults and out- damages me with no effort. I had over 300 stacks at 20 min and she easily out traded me. It makes no sense, last time i checked nasus counters her and when i go to duel she just hits her ult and gets all that practically unavoidable damage off. im clearly still a little tilted from that game and I am willing to listen to other opinions on this topic but for as well as i farmed, and stayed away from her during laning phase this is ridiculous for her to out duel me like she did.

thank you for your time,

Average blitz NA

Nasus is actually one of Illaoi's worse matchups, but it does require specific know-how on Susan's side. The big thing to know is you can get Q stacks off of her tentacles. Don't be concerned with dueling her, just play passively and farm your Q (i.e. how you always want to play Nasus). Back off when she tries to engage: use Wither if you need to, she has no good way to catch up when slowed. Don't try to fight her around her tentacles. If she lands the spirit grab on you and you start spawning tentacles, just retreat, dodge the tentacles as they spawn and kill and farm three of them to make the passive go away.

Here's a little secret for dealing with being a vessel. If you're somewhere safe (deep under your turret away from the minion wave), use attack move (hold the 'A' key and left-click on the ground at the same time) while next to a wall or turret. When the tentacle spawns, Nasus will automatically attack it. As soon as he hits it, immediately press Q to swing again. This will kill the tentacle before it can finish its attack animation, netting you a stack without taking any damage. Don't do this while there's any enemies (including minions) nearby, or your champion will start walking their way to slap them instead.

For dealing with Illaoi in general, especially outside the laning phase, try not to fight where she's spawned a clump of tentacles if you can help it. When she ults, fall back outside their reach. Almost all of Illaoi's damage and sustain is tied to those tentacles: if your team moves the fight away from them, she loses a lot of power. If you do have to fight her near them, try to keep moving around so it'll be easier to dodge the tentacle slams whenever she uses her W (her dunk move).

Illaoi can seem really powerful and intimidating, but the best defense against her is practice and experience.

play passive, outheal any poke she throws at you, get to 600 stacks at 20, kill her and then destroy teamfights. it's that easy, she is one of the easiest match ups for nasus, as you can easily get huge amount of stacks and she shouldn't have a kill potential on you
