Oh yea, Shen is so much more fun now..

Shen? What's that you got? Q to farm and poke if you're lucky, if you're against a melee? Naaaaa, let's get rid of that and put a dog chain mechanic, because that's what a ninja needs.

Seriously though, this yanking mechanic has no place in his kit, it's not fun, it's not advanced, it's tedious and makes no sense whatsoever. Basically to have any brawls in lane means using everything you got if you'd like it go in your favour, his new passive is fine, the W is awesome, if only it could just tag Shen and not the blade, bring back the old Q.

If you think Shen wasn't intense enough you haven't even played him, juggling laning skirmishes and watching for your teammates at the same time while last hitting isn't exactly yawn inducing, heck I'd argue he was one of the most intense champions to play.

Passive - Cool W - great concept E - Taunt still there, gj R - Love ya

Q - I utterly hate it.

He's an energy champion, obviously this has to be the case since his resource pool recovers the spent energy in a very short time after he spends it. If he was gated by mana it would be a different story.

It would be as if they reworked Cassiopeia, left everything about her kit basically the same, but replaced her Twin Fangs with a snake pet that could get three shot and spits out auto attacks on anyone who was poisoned. The first 10 minutes of every Shen game is dominated by 75% Q casts: it was his last hitting, harassing, sustaining tool. A change to that makes the entire dynamic of the character very different. The new Q makes last hitting very easy, but the floating sword feels conceptually invalid. Like it was just tacked on to give the LCS announcers something to talk about and a little bit of outplay potential.

I think I personally would have changed it so that Q can activate twice... the first time you cast it, it is a single target point and click ability that operates like his old Q-marking a target in the process, and then activating Q again within 3 seconds would summon the sword back to you, providing the temporary damage buff. I'd get rid of some of the ball of stats plaguing the Q right now, and add an additional mechanic to the shadow dash-maybe a refresh on his shield mechanic or greater energy recovery; so that shadow dash becomes a bit more calculating instead of essential setup for the currently unwieldy Q. I think conceptually the sword should teleport onto the recipient of the R at the start of the cast with impressive effects as opposed to just showing up alongside Shen in kind of an "meh, yeah, I'm here, too.". Shen could cast W, ult and have the shield activate at the onset of the channel. That could make for some amazing saves.

I would actually have taken that as a Cassiopeia rework if it meant we didn't have to deal with the machine gun wait-wait-wait-wait-wait-wait-wait-wait-ok-now-I-can-melt-you-all-with-my-stacked-passive.

E and R didn't change at all, his passive is his old W basically, and the Q is.. well, that. Considering 50% of his kit changed, I hate 50% of it.

w actually sucks aswell...its´far too short to make it noticable considering how conditional it is. it´s just the ultra-light-version of a windwall on a champ that maybe should provide some more utility than a melee-carry.
