[Concept] Vladimir Rework

Passive: Crimson Tide

The HP pools of enemy champions are split up into segments, each containing 10% of their maximum health. When a champion loses enough HP to lose a segment, they drop an blood orb. If Vladimir hits one of these blood orbs with a basic attack or Crimson Lash, he will absorb it. He can also simply walk near a blood orb to absorb it.

Absorbing a Blood Orb heals Vladimir for 2% of his maximum health and grant him 10 Blood.

Vladimir can hold up to 100/133/166/200 Blood (at levels 1/6/11/16).

Q: Transfusion 16/15/14/13/12 second CD

Vladimir taps into the veins of a target enemy, draining their life force over 6 seconds through a crimson tether (600 cast range, 800 break range) The target takes 15/20/25/30/35 (+2% max HP) (+0.1 AP) magic damage every second, and Vladimir is healed for half this amount (pre-mitigation). Additionally, Vladimir steals 8% of the targets movement speed.

If the tether is broken, the effects of this spell end early.

If the target dies, the CD resets to 1 second.

W: Sanguine Pool

Y'all already know what this does. It ain't changed none.

E: Hemoplague 60/55/50/45/40 second CD

Vladimir applies a curse to all enemy champions in a 250 AOE for 5 seconds. Cursed enemies take 10% increased damage from all sources. At the end of the curse's duration, allied champions heal for any of the bonus damage they dealt personally, while Vladimir is healed for all of the bonus damage dealt by any source.

R: Crimson Lash 24/18/12/6 second CD

Learned automatically at level 1

Vladimir puts the blood of his enemies to good use, channeling to attack with a desired amount before lashing out at a target.

  • Tap: Instantly consume 50 Blood to deal 30/80/130/180 (+0.4 AP) magic damage to a target enemy, granting Vladimir a 2 second 30% haste.
  • Hold: After 0.5 seconds, every second you charge will increase the damage dealt by 50%, the cast range by 75, and the Blood cost by 50.

Any Blood Orbs generated by this ability's damage are absorbed automatically.

Targeting a Blood Orb with this spell will refund its blood cost and reset its CD to 1 second.

Why rework Vlad when he works?

Bârd1 votes

Because he doesn't.

The rework a couple years ago didn't actually solve any of his problems, it just took the old kit and threw in some burst damage.

Wouldn't that imply he does work?

He does work ruining games and destroying lategames with no counterplay. And the problem are not the numbers, is a fail design.

Clearly not true according to his numbers, but ok. His late game is incredibly strong but his counterplay is how piss poor weak his early is.

The same way Old Poppy "worked"?

The same way OG Talon, Kassadin, and Leblanc "worked"?

Vlad is a champion who nobody would really consider balanced, yet has never garnered a following in the years since his release since he's so goddamn boring that nobody plays him regardless of how good he is.

A top player would rather play Aatrox and lose than play Vlad and win, because at least then they aren't falling asleep.

Old Poppy didn't work, hence why she got a rework, she was kept permanently shit on purpose because of how stupid

That...is so completely and utterly false it hurts. Did you watch worlds, do you even play this game? From Gold up, he has a 4 to 6% play rate top and/or mid?

https://u.gg/lol/champions/vladimir/build/?rank=gold

He was picked or banned in 20 of the 77 worlds games with a win rate of 55%.

https://gol.gg/tournament/tournament-stats/World%20Championship%202019/

Aatrox on the other hand has half of his games played at worlds so I got to ask what the fuck you are talking about?

Old Poppy worked very well. She worked so well that if she was allowed to be viable, she would curbstomp every champion in the game with no opportunity to beat her.
