How the meta (imo) makes the game not fun

I think the meta really is what is making this game not fun for many people. Yes I know the meta is like that because it's what is powerful at the time. But what ever happened to being relaxed and playing the stupid shit that may not have worked but was really fun, or even better, finding the stupid shit that was actually kinda good. For example, I just played an hour long game as top lane tank Kog'Maw. Seems pretty fucking stupid right? But my teammates were really fun and chill about it, and they got in on the action too. We had everyone go tank. Tankmo, tank ivern, tank malzahar, tank alistar, and then me, tank Kog'Maw. For the first 55 minutes it looked like we were going to lose the game because all we could do was defend. But then we got the baron and just completely steamrolled through their base without minions because we all went tank. It was the most fun I've had in this game in a while. I didn't care that Alistar kept on going in and dying. None of us were salty because we were all having fun breaking the meta. Sorry for kinda rambling but Tank Kog'Maw actually is pretty damn good late game.

i dont think its the meta i think its the community as a whole more worried about what champs are op and can win easily with cuz they care so much for the W and proving how much better they are then 5 random players instead of playing the game for fun... win or lose

You can simply choose to ignore the meta, especially since below very high level play, it is flexible or just straight meaningless.

Let the tryhards runs down lane while you play support galio.

Dont show pick intent if you are playing something unusual, because some baby will loose their shit. If they cry, simply ignore them and continue with the game. If they want to feed/afk while you carry them, it is utterly their fault, feel free to inform them that it is optional.

Ya you can, but a lot of the times if you go even one thing that's off the meta even in normal games your team will sometimes just say in all chat "report x he's trolling". Breaking the meta =/= trolling most of the time. (I mean if you go AP garen that's kinda a stretch)

This is beneficial, as the other team will think you are trolling and not take you seriously. You cannot get in any trouble by being reported, unless you actually do something wrong, and riot never enforces meta.

I mean ADC Swain works. But it's not optimal.

That is a very questionable definition of "works", since his kit has nothing to support an ADC playstyle, but it would be amusing, surely.

Some mages that can actually be really good ADCs are leblanc, ahri and kennen, due to their fast attacks, high mobility and CC. AD kennen is incredibly terrifying, when paired with a support that has strong CC.
