Possible Upcoming Dragon Changes and Cumulative Advantage

Keeping this short:

Currently dragon is worth gold. This is very valuable in the early/mid portion of any game. However as time passes gold disparities between teams become less and less relevant. This is a good thing, and extremely healthy for the game. Teams with any type of early advantage need to capitalize on that advantage to win. If they do not their opponents can come back in the late game.

Changing dragon to a permanent buff would mean teams that gain an early advantage would always keep that advantage through every part of the game. Worse yet, once a team was too weak to contest dragon the opposing team would simply get infinitely stronger. This kind of potential is destructive to League.

I am more concerned with a possible lack of understanding from the developers then with this (or any) specific change. Honestly, they should know better. Obviously it's still early. We'll have to see what the final iteration brings...

Idk why they would change it. No point.

Dragon does more damage to, and takes less damage from teams that have stacks of Dragonslayer. So it becomes easier for the losing team to steal it the further behind they are on objective control.
