Win rates

I've thought a lot about win rates, pondering the question as to why people sit at 50% win rate and very rarely have a higher win rate than 67% or lower win rate than 33%. I think i have found an answer to this.

You lose 1/3 of your games

I believe 1/3 of your games are nearly impossible for you to win or requires you to play beyond perfect. These are the games where one or more players on your team has connection issues, trolls, rage quits, feeds or flames, or your team comp is just flat out bad, or the enemy team just played much better.

You win 1/3 of your games

I also believe 1/3 of your games are almost guaranteed wins, these are the games where the enemy team has conncetion issues, a troll, a feeder or you're team mates are just flat out carrying you.

In 2/3 of your games, it doesn't matter how well you do, you could play your absolute best but if someone disconnects, starts trolling or too many players on your team are feeding, you're gonna lose anyway. Just like you could do badly, lose lane (but not super duper hard), be behind in CS and still win the game due to the enemy team having issues or the rest of your team being great. _ So what happens in the last 1/3 of your games?_

These are the interesting games, the games where no team is really winning by default, no team has connection issues, feeders, trolls and both teams has good team comps. These are the games that will decide your win rate and these are the games where you need to make something happen, where your plays will have the biggest swings. A simple roam from mid to bot lane or a good decision to take a turret or do baron could be the deciding factor.

Because of this, i believe it requires exceptional skill to have a win rate above 67% or horrible skills to get a win rate below 33%.

In order for you to actually climb and increase your win rate, you won't need to carry all your games, but you need to carry in 1/3 of them. This is why promotions actually make sense, you get one win for free, you lose one game for "free", and you need to carry that last one. Ofcourse its possible to get that 1/3 of games where you are almost guaranteed to lose 10 times in a row, however just as likely to get one of the other 2/3s.

**How does this help you to not tilt? **

The games where tilt will be most noticable is in that 1/3 where you are more than likely to lose, you could be playing well but your team mates are having issues. Instead of just getting angry and tilt, just realize that there's no way around it, everyone has to deal with that 1/3, even if you're better than everyone at your elo, you still need to deal with that 1/3. Just think of the game as one of those games, let it go and hope the next game is in the other 2/3s.

In conclusion, in order for you to climb, you need to make extra efforts in the close games, it helps if you play champions you are comfortable with and can make a difference. Look at your history, if you have a champion with 60% or higher win rate that you've played more than 20 games with, that's probably a good champion for you to pick in a lot of games. No matter what champion you pick, in these games you need to win your lane and help your team mates out via turrets or ganks.

Just 2 of my 10 cents.

Playmore on tilt and learn to overcome it. Thats most peoples problems are they don't know how to come from behind. Make it last til late game and it all balances out and Can be won

Never surrender never give up

My longest game was 1 hour 26 min come from behind victory BTW
