Is there ever a reason to play AD Corki?
- Impossible to build sustain without jeopardizing his core build (all abilities count as AoE so gunblade heals for nothing and deals no damage since you have no AP; , building a BT isn't worth it due to low attack speed)
- Lethality (EoN) meta means Corki's damage is significantly reduced before the midgame (15 mpen isn't going to make a difference)
- Extremely mana hungry, forced to build crit for Essence Reaver which does little for his damage aside from AAs (muramana doesn't apply to his abilities either)
- Falls off hard late game (buying Voidstaff helps a bit, but you have to sacrifice buying a defensive item to do so)
- Short AA range and long travel time on Q mean that most ADCs are going to out-range you and out trade you due to how easy it is to dodge Q.
- Riot tried to compensate for the loss of crit on Triforce for AD corki, but virtually ended up reverting most of it with the 7.4 nerfs to AP corki)
- virtually every nerf to AP Corki has affected AD corki in a more significant way.
- Is basically a shittier version of Ezreal (less versatile, less reliable damage, less mobility, etc)
Virtually all of above issues are remedied by building AP instead, but Riot clearly doesn't like AP corki synergizing well with a Magic damage ability kit
Am I missing something? Did I overlook a redeeming factor of AD corki?
Honestly, if I could make a change to help AD corki out, it would be to make crit grant bonus Mpen. A unique interaction with crit (like ashe).
Hell, giving a Crit version of triforce would work wonders on him as well.
