Sona still needs a re-work on her E

we havent forgotten about Sona's E, problems:

  1. useless early game
  2. boring

= existing 4%pick rate (like Galio)

Proposals for re-work:

passive allows aura stacking, for example, if sona uses w then e, she get's a bonus aura that has an additional effect, could be something like 'as long as teammates are nearby they heal 5hp/s with a bonus ms of 5%, if Sona uses q + w, a new aura grants a bonus aura that deals dmg/s on a radius while reducing armor mr of opponents under the aura radius, etc.

Summary: Sona's new passive can grant aura combinations making her fun to play, if e is used twice, a new aura happens for 3 secs that reduces opponents ms, etc.

I agree, if she got a fix to her E, she would be WAY better off.

How to make Sona playable again:

Step 1: Wait for LCS to play her. Step 2: Watch them play her. Step 3: Observe the number of obedient LCS-dogs copycatting & spamming Support role in Team Builder.

I play sona as my go-to support. She's fine, you people will just complain about anything that's not strong enough to be super popular.

It doesn't help that her optimal build is AP.

doesnt change the fact that nami is a better sona. and i dont want sona to be p/b in lcs. but id just love to see some that make her a unique aura support like she used to be. and not nami 2.0

Technically Nami would be Sona 2.0, but anyways. Sona does need some buffs to reinstill her identity, because as it stands now she's just an immobile, squishy turret that dishes out a ton of damage in lane that falls off later unless you're full AP (in which case her kit works a lot better, as even e feels strong as an escape) and heals. She has the potential to snowball amazingly if people manage to get off the q-passive auto and the shield on their adc before the enemies can retaliate, but she only needs to be killed once or twice before her damage just doesn't hold up. She can work wonderfully, but it entirely revolves around her being ahead. As for Nami being Sona 2.0, I'd have to disagree. Nami has more overall in her kit (if she can land the bubble), but she can't out-bully a Sona who plays her cards right. She'll get out-harassed if she isn't able to make Sona waste a heal or two and kill her own mana. That's just what I've found playing Sona though. I guess if Nami could land the q before a trade starts she could get in and out before sona can do anything, but likewise Sona can just e forward to q-auto and back up before the MS wears off. It'd probably come down to a skill matchup. (P.S.: Im not saying Sona is better overall, I'm just saying that she's the more dominant laning support of the two, with a good deal of potential for both of their ults in team fights.

In a recent thread I made, I proposed that Sona's E should get better lvl scalings and active (IMO the actives is also pretty lackluster)

What if the active portion grants the greater movespeed boost to Sona and one other ally in range instead of Sona herself?

Ex: Sona grants a burst of MS to herself and one other ally in range. She the activates the Celerity aura. MS burst: 13%/16%/19%/22%/25% (+6% per 100 AP) decays down to aura bonus over 1.5 sec.

(Note: I increased the speed boost value by a bit. The aura should also get increased % since the lvl scalings are so bad)

Thoughts?

do not change SONA she is fine...you realize RITO will end up turning her into a floating pile or lard before they make her better....

Her E needs a small buff for sure. Nami's passive feels better than her E.
