I'm actually curious as to whether or not this could work on a tank like say... Malphite. Primarily AP but typically doesn't build penetration, meaning this could help him damage other tanks? Not hard to activate because melee, and playstyle revolves around staying in combat like all other tanks.

How long are your fights lasting that you get to use conqueror ? Mine last 2-3 seconds which is why last time I took grasp I only got 2 procs off in a 20 minute game...
Need Gold 4 Tent2 votesEarly laning I would farm and just barely keep my conqueror stacks up. Then I'd throw a Q, run up to them and start hitting them. When they turn to fight back, I E and they auto lose the trade most of the time.
Lategame, I normally just AA minions and jungle monsters once or twice before I start a fight. It's easier for me because I'm the initiator so I can do my prepping, and I am not "reacting" to an engage. It's not as easy if you're playing say... Yi and are waiting for an engage that comes just as your buff wears off.

Is an enemy low? No? Don't even get close to the enemy because the jungler or him could 3/4 hp you with 2-3 hits. Did you get close to the enemy, did one of you die? No, well guess you have to back because you are 100 hp now.

The Space Cowboy1 votesTotally. Most ap tanks don’t build ap anyway so a little ad or attack speed can be more useful on top of a tank build. Of course there are people that do full ap malph mid but I don’t think it’s very popular.

Need Gold 4 Tent1 votesDone, it was pretty ridiculous and I stomped my enemy laner. It was a jarvan going tank though, maybe easy matchup. We lost, maybe because I wasn't tanky enough lategame without tank runes? But overall I would say it works, at least for Shen because I could duel most people who came to fight me while still somewhat serving as a tank. No idea me dying so quickly was because of damage creep in general or because of lack of tank runes, I did build near full tank, and I was fed.

M00ndanc31 votesI ran it on Ornn. its pretty nice and the damage late game is rediculous. enemy team ate a full combo because they were grouped, I one shot the squishies and left the tanks at about half.

It is harder to play with it.
I usually go that build when my team lacks some tankyness and they have 3+ tanks.
Conqueror - triumph- AS/tenacity - Coup de grace
Eyeball/sudden impact - ravenous hunter.

Hawkefire1 votesWell, it converts a percentage of all damage to true damage, so it definitely works. Trouble is maintaining the buff and having the buff up when you want it to be up. Granted as a magic damage tank that actually isn't a huge issue (only becomes a problem when engaging for a teamfight), and just waiting for the buff to activate before unloading your highest damaging skills.
Need Gold 4 Tent1 votesTanks don't normally rely on a big nuke, they have average but consistent damage (see Amumu cry, Malphite W and spammable E, Shen Q, Rammus AA, reflect and R). It's those that are gonna get amplified, which is far more useful since you can't burst tanks, and this gives dps against other tanks.
Hawkefire1 votesSure, but they do have abilities that do more damage than other abilities (within their kit), and thus would want to make the most of it by converting part of its damage to true damage.
