G4LLOWSC4L1BR4TR12 votesNot gonna lie, not having to worry about the mechanics or dealing with all 3 lanes at once is a lot of the reason I play support. I can CS alright, but I don't really like it and mostly it just seems distracting rather than rewarding.
Ariel the Cruel9 votesBad news. As a support in lane, you have responsibilities in 4 areas. In order of importance:
- The Area encompassed by the ADC's ego.
- Your bot jungle (vision and counter-invade).
- Enemy bot jungle (vision and failed invasion peel.)
- Mid (ganks if your ADC isn't getting trashed and/or full retard).
G4LLOWSC4L1BR4TR4 votesYeah, the general map awareness is important, but I'd rather focus on just bot and go mid or jungle when there's something happening than have all 3 lanes complain at me the second their lane doesn't go well. And the primary thing is the CSing. Map awareness is essentially my main job other than babysitting the ADC, but it seems to me anyway that I have to do it to a slightly lesser extent than when I have to play jungle.

That is one of the benefits of being a support main, but as a jungle secondary, ganking isn't exactly something that requires work (like csing does IMO. Ganking is fun). Still, it requires more attention/planning than playing passive supports (aggro supports like blitz/leona do require a bit more concentration).

Though in the place of not having to tediously last hit or take the extreme risks of ganking, you have to do everything else that isn't killing. More vision control. Shotcalling and leading/guiding your ADCs to do what they should be doing. Potato peeling. Tear generating.
