Why is this game so depressing

Because LoL isn't fair, will never be fair, and CAN never be fair.

Until Riot invent a system where LP gains and losses are based primarily on the quality of your personal performance rather than solely on whether you win or lose, the game simply cannot be fair- you will lose games where you do EVERYTHING right but someone else (or EVERYONE else) on your team totally fucks up, or trolls, or DCs, or in some way completely lets the team down and you lose an unfair game, wasting your LP, your time and your effort and giving you nothing for it other than a pittance of consolation IP and a tiny amount of champion mastery. This is not fair at all. But it's impossible for Riot to do anything about it, and frankly they don't really care.

With a friend who works on another, fairly popular, moba. The answer i always receive is "China". Apparently, they want the game to work in the way it currently does. They want faster games, and the only real way to accomplish that, is through heavy snowballing.

The way snowballing works makes people feel miserable if the enemy gets one together.
