Bronze is Unbearable, Elo Hell is Real, and Individual Skill is Irrelevant

Just had a match where I went 11/0/5, did 50k damage to champions, took 31k dmg, and ended with 348 CS. But none of it mattered, because our ADC, a Twitch, decided he'd mute all and split push his way to 21 deaths.

I already know what people's responses will be, "git gud" and the like, but I don't know that I have the words to describe how disheartening it is to come to the realization that your rank isn't really up to your individual competency, rather, it's determined by the quality of your teammates and the grace of the matchmaking system.

You can read up on your champ, practice as much as possible, learn the most effective strategies for securing wins, and so on. But, none of that really matters, as you're just as likely to win or lose a match as a casual who puts little to no time into the game.

I know this isn't going anywhere, just really needed to vent. This game is frustrating as hell.

How many objectives did you take?

take a break! individual skill only matters when both teams have equal levels of teamwork being applied. find a duo and climb to silver and then people will stop playing with their emotions. try to apply more early game pressure and make sure no losing lane becomes lost because people tilt. and stay positive :p point out flaws in strats not flaws in mentalities because a flawed mentality must become self aware in order to improve.

Hey I up voted because i feel sorry for you. You can and will carry yourself out of bronze, just keep playing even when your mates aren't doing that well. When you lose don't let yourself get angry and go to the next game, this is very important. If you do well enough you will skip divisions.

This may not be what you wanna hear, but you should give 3v3 Twisted treeline a shot. It's a little harder to climb than 5v5 (since you WILL play against plats and diamonds every other game) but the mode focuses WAY more on individual strength and champion mechanic/synergy. If you are truly blessed with decent mechanical skill you WILL climb in this mode. You only have two team mates to carry and champion choice and preference matters WAY more than 5v5. If you like playing adc's and squishy mages with little for cc i wouldn't bother going to the TT, they will eat you. But if you can watch the map and respond quickly to unplanned skirmishes and fights and try to help your team mates every time they are in trouble (unless there is 0 hope) then you will do very well there with spectacular champion mechanics. Give the TT a try and take a break from 5v5. TT will make you a better laner and team fighter. It will help you watch the map and plan around all that extra shit in 5v5, you just have to know how to apply the knowledge you learned there to 5v5. Good luck.

Bronze is actually very heavily reliant on individual skill. If you think it's not in that elo, wait til you hit silver, the land of the inconsistent.

Bronze is essentially a test of your own skill. The way to win in bronze is to abuse your lead by helping others. Top: TP-gank bot and tank for your ADC (assuming you're a tank).

Mid: Roam. Roam, and keep roaming bot lane until the enemy either alt-F4's out of the game or they type in all chat "need a tent?". And keep doing it. If you are constantly putting pressure on enemy bot lane then your ADC will do better. It's much easier to roam if you start on baron-side because there's 2 pathways you can come from.

Jungle: Camping. Pretty self-explanatory. Don't leave botside for long. Although I wouldn't go jungle to carry yourself out of bronze because, from my own experience, all lanes will need help all the time and players just can't micromanage all of this at once at this ELO; jungle success comes from counterjungling and early kills/snowballing.

Support: You kind of just have to get good at this role. It's a lot different from any other one in that you don't have to worry about CS, which is a lot easier, but you do have to worry about positioning and wards. Practice some norms with META SUPPORTS ONLY because I guarantee if you go Teemo/annie/velkoz/any AP champion as a support you won't do it right at this ELO. Just play Soraka; she's a simple support with a lot of utility and healing.

The ADC and the jungler are the two roles that decide the game, every time (in bronze). If you're jungler is behind, you're immediately screwed. This is why invades are so common; incredibly high-risk high-reward that can win/lose a game. The ADC determines late game. If your ADC isn't fed but theirs is, you already lost.

If you don't play ADC/Jungle, then the best way to help is to help bot lane. Mid lane should be at bot whenever the enemy mid is dead/backed. If the jungler is being chased, you drop EVERYTHING and go help because that one kill can decide the game. Especially when you factor in the Bronze Tilt effect (over literally nothing).

Finally, some good bans are Caitlyn, Master Yi, Yasuo (probably the only non-ADC/jungle that can decide the game), Fizz, and then whatever counters you in lane. I see a Master Yi virtually every game and he's guaranteed to hit his late game in this ELO. I've never seen a Yi that hasn't. And since bronze games are drawn out to 30+ minutes because of lack of objective focus, it's even more likely to happen.

I'm B4 myself; what do you main? I can try to help you but I'm probably not the best person to do so.

Individual skill is what matters most in bronze, as a plat i can carry bronze with my individual skill very easily.

You already mentioned this in your thread but yes, CS is critical, it's underrated, and it will help you climb. While you did get 348 CS, you also played a game that took longer than 47 minutes.

So 348 / 47 = 7.4 CS x 20 = 148 CS in 20 minutes.

Now, compare it to my last game, 252 CS in about 28 minutes (and 3 seconds)

https://na.op.gg/summoner/userName=Hallbuster

252 / 28 = 9 x 20 = 180 CS in 20 minutes

And yes, I am in bronze 3 myself even though I would like to point out my normal MMR is much higher (before it fell when I played support, not going to go into this).

So in short, improve your CS. This thread wasn't made for satire, its a guideline:

It's a team game...

You build an SV verse a an all AD team, and if you are that fed as Illaoi and cant split push, that is bonkers. You should be able to 1v2 or 1v3 with her.
