say you land jungle in draft, while someone is autofilled support. if they say "i'm going jungle no matter what", and YOU decide that you're going to go jungle anyway, YOU are just as much to blame as the troll refusing to play the role he was assigned. You are the same side of the shitty coin that was handed to you. yeah, it sucks when someone refuses to play the lane assigned, and that guy should be reported. but stubbornly staying in your position even when you know some guy's gonna troll and lose you the game makes you JUST AS RESPONSIBLE.

edit: seems you all disagree with this. have fun with your -3 to -15 lp because you don't wanna let them have their way. just know every time i see this situation happen, whether its my team or enemy team, i report both.

edit #2: you all are insane. you're literally comparing a lobby troll to REAL LIFE hostage situations. you are all insane.

No, that's 100% the autofilled troll's fault. Someone like that is going to be a problem anyway, going along with their tantrum just reinforces shitty behavior.

I DON'T NEGOTIATE WITH LOBBY TERRORISTS

Def not "just as responsible" but yes, somewhat responsible. I usually change roles personally if its a role I can play, but if it isn't theres no way in hell I'm swapping; I can't bot lane at all but if I'm jungle and someone that get's top says that, I will swap or offer swap. Granted if they state it "going jung no matter what" that absolute refusal is a huge turn off and I'm a lot less likely to do it. It's as simple as saying "I can only play jung/mid" or "Mid jung pref", not "I'm holding you all hostage, bend to my will".

What you're arguing is tantamount to "Yes, lets give terrorists whatever there demands are. If we don't, we're just as responsible for the crimes they commit". Do you know with that $1,000,000 they hold as ransom? Commit more crimes with the money or the exact same process/demands/repeating they did last time because a.) it works, b.) they got what they wanted and c.) there was little/no consequence. It's honestly high school level psychology that I would hope or believe most people would understand, but I can understand if something wasn't thoroughly thought through.

what? I get not doing anything to help balance the team comp, but giving into someone who's going to ruin another players day? you got your role, why do you have to switch with a pompous punk? I won't have it, I'll take dodge counter over letting some self-entitled brat take my place any day.

What if I can't play his role? :S

So let me compare this to a little more severe situation. So let us say you are in a hostage situation. You and one other person are captured and said you have to cut off your pinky toe and throw it into a can 25 ft away or they will brutally beat you and the other hostage. Now they said they would do the same thing if you missed the can. So you decide you just want to get beat because the odds are severely stacked against you. Based off your logic you also beat the crap out of the other hostage.

Just don't be dumb. It is always 100% the trollers fault.

Obviously no one actually considers holding a lobby hostage to be analogous to a real hostage situation, it's just a metaphor that comes naturally because "holding the lobby hostage" is pretty common nomenclature for this sort of ordeal. Don't be mad because you got BTFO in the replies lmao

No, it doesn't make you JUST as responsible - it is 100% their fault for being a troll, but it is kind of a stupid decision on your part to not do what you can to win.

in a ranked game i would go support. in effort to save my own LP as well as that of my three other teammates. and report them at the end of the game no matter the outcome

in an unranked game... i would screenshot it.. dodge, and send a ticket to riot with the report

Ok this part is really stupid, why would i gave up my lane for some random person that "cant play" filled lane, and go there by myself and do probably worst than him there? This part about reporting is also stupid, its like "A" robbed "B" but he said he gonna do it if "B" wont give him money and "B" didnt gave it to him and for u its both people fault? lol

No. If you fault a guy for not giving up a position that is rightfully theirs you are essentially giving the trolls the power to turn other people into trolls. If you got jungle and you go to the jungle and do that job, you cannot be faulted for that. If you switch to support in a case like this, it makes you especially nice and is commendable, not the expected behavior.
