uninstalling this game due to toxic community, and misguided riot toxicitiy punishments.

12 of my last 20 games have had AFKS, intentional trolls, or just downright completely toxic assholes.

i got reported in all of those games, either by the inters for being fed up with them feeding/trolling. I got reported by the toxic assholes, for defending myself. I got reported by my teammates in the AFKER games because even when it's 4v5 people won't surr and will hold a game hostage.

riot seriously expects you to spew positivity or say absolutely nothing when people go out of their way to ruin games for you. or drag out losing games to 50 minutes, or afk, or WHATEVER.

i'm done. im sick of getting punished for being fed up with the MYRIAD OF ASSHOLES WHO POPULATE THIS GAME, AND RUIN IT FOR OTHERS FOR SHITS AND GIGGLES.

this is why you playerbase is dropping riot. you are COMPLETELY ASS BACKWARDS.

More and more people are going to realize this, and you're gonna end up with a DEAD GAME in a couple of years.

go ahead and downvote this thread people. you have no context, and haven't played the 12 of 20 games that i did where i got relentlessly trolled, or had afks.

i'll even give you a REAL reason to downvote.

Every community OUTSIDE of the league community knows that league's playerbase is the most idealistic, sensitive PUSSIES on the planet. League has a reputation for this EVERYWHERE.

Unfortunately the OP is 100% correct.
I've been in the scene ever since Quakeworld. And I've seen my own share of the fractures and dying of great genres (which later got resurrected but it was never the same again).

Back when devs actively participated in discussions. Back when 3dfx was King. Back when you could get rich farming alladvantage.

Some of you may have been around to watch what happened to c.s.i.pc-g.spacesim and flightsim in the late 90's. What went on there would make this community look like hello kitty.

If you aren't already a professional player or a paid (read: good looking, sexy, hot, or popular) streamer, it's best to just move on and find something worth your time. Chess and Golf are more popular than ever now. Poker is poker. But outside of Counter-strike Global Offensive and Fortnite and PUBG, online gaming isn't much to talk about anymore. The fighting game community is stronger than anything besides CS:Go. Everything is just filled with pay to win grindfests and me-too startup clones. The old FPS gods play whatever Quake iteration is out there, or played WOW or retired. RPG's are in a strange state with a few blockbusters and tons of 'old' remakes and P2W clones left and right. Decent stuff to play if you are into single player, however.

Fact: LoL is toxic because Riot is toxic from the top down. I'll give some clear examples here:

I would estimate 90% of games, you see losing team arguing and blaming each other at end. This a FACT, we all see it every day. Riot LITERALLY believes trashing your own teammates in game is not toxic in and of itself, and has a high threshold of tolerance for this behavior. You can even go beyond the ingame report system and get live chats and others on the line, they literally do NOTHING but justify whatever original action they took.

Riot has done NOTHING to prevent pregame schenanigans. Everyone has probably at one point or another had this experience: Player gets auto'd to support, doesn't want to play support, and doesn't want to dodge either. So they either ban main of someone else in queue, or take ridiculous choice to try and convince someone else to take the dodge, or just plain ignore all the roles and do what they want all game. This could EASILY be solved by offering a detailed dodge option. Example: Player loads, bans my main, wants jg. I would HAPPILY dodge right there and take my own five minute ban, if there was any way at all to report the player in question obviously sabotaging entire game from start. But of course there is no option for that.

The funniest part of the main bans is the result: you are often stuck playing a champ you are not as good with, in a rank you are not really prepared for with that champ. This then results in ENTIRE TEAM flaming you, telling you you suck, to go kill yourself, etc. Then you are literally the bad guy and getting reported, because no way to dodge and report original instigator.

I got so fed up with it last night I stopped in game to file a Better Business Bureau complaint. Game before we lost (and through zero fault of mine, top score by a mile), a buddy and his duo partner loaded into next queue with me. Immediately shown in text' we are doomed' ' we lost' 'rip' then one of them bans my main. Riot has explained to me in detail that they expected the following from me:

I should have dodged to avoid this scenario even though two other players harrassing through two games (victim takes penalty)
I should have played it out and spent entire game being flamed by entire team (victim takes penalty).

LIterally not cooperating with targeted harrassment wasn't even an option, and my account was banned. I have time stamps, I filed BBB complaint before ban, supervisor stood by ban even with clear text from other players confirming main ban was malicious.

Riot's attitude really does come down to 'boys will be boys' and they claim nothing they can do about it.

This is patently false.

Everyone says post 30 gets a lot better and that pre 30 is where all of the permabanned toxic people are trying to get back to end game content. Play coop v ai or aram where people usually don't talk and get to 30. though ive been warned to stay away from ranked. apparently it's a cesspool of toxicity

Wait your game has MULTIPLE AFK's and it still took 40+ minutes to end? How that doesn't make sense there are 5v5s that last less then 16 minutes how the hell can a 3v5 last 40+.
