I'm starting to see why everyone hates Windwall

As a Jungle main, I usually only have to deal with Yasuo when I gank him for overextending. Seeing as most of my champions are melee, I don't have a problem with him blocking my non-existent projectiles (besides maybe Rengar's Bola).

However, after getting queued as Mid for a few games, and I end up facing Yasuo, I really see why people hate him so much. My mains are Lux and Brand as of recently, meaning that trading with a good Yasuo player in lane after lvl 3 is nearly impossible.

This is all because of his Windwall. All he does is dash in your face, press W, auto's you until the duration ends, and then dashes away. By doing this, he simultaneously pushes in the wave, meaning you have to choose between trying to fight him in a giant wave of minions, or use your abilities to farm. Given that you're a mage, who can't last hit very well under tower, you almost always have to choose the latter, unless Yasuo messes up.

This ends up resulting in Yasuo's Windwall coming off cool-down by the time you're in a good spot to fight him again, meaning there's little to no risk in Yasuo's trading. The only hope is to get a gank, but again, you have to catch him at the perfect time, or you'll have to walk through minions to lock him down.

I remember Riot stating that the reason they made Charm unable to stop enemy movement abilities was because it gave her an advantage just by simply existing; her enemies essentially couldn't use their gap-closers until she blew her charm, because there was such a risk of it getting negated, thus it was dubbed unfair in Riot's eyes.

So why then does Yasuo's Windwall through that principle in the garbage? As long as it's off-cooldown, so many champions are unable to use their major spells because they run the risk of it being instantly countered.

Something needs to be done about this. Maybe give it a a channel time so that he has to use it strategically, instead of getting what is basically a 2 second spell shield.

Welcome to the club.

Try playing MissFortune and literally never using your ult all game because the other team has a Yasuo .

i remember when rito said they'll never add a non conditional "block button" type skill

then yasuo (or maybe they said it after yasuo?)

then fiora

at least fioras parry has a very short window for success and only helps herself. yasuos wind-wall is just a screw you to projectiles for himself and his team.

People still have an issue with Windwall?

If you practice with lux is actually surprisingly easy to counter him. bait his shield out with autos, it has a long CD. Also dont try to put an E on him, put it on you or where youre running to. As for Q, it depends how youre facing and where he dashes from, but if get him in your E its pretty easy to land

Wow you haven't played against a yasuo main. He can windwall the E or Q. He's not going to waste his windwall on autos - his passive shield can handle those.

Ok if you say so.

The problem is a good Yasuo will just hold Windwall while he's autoing you, knowing you're not going to use any abilities until he's pressed W. He consistently has the advantage because even if he doesn't block anything with it, you're unable to do shit until he's blown the ability.

That isnt a problem, that just makes them predictable. just means you keep their shield down and farm, and if he does go in you cast on yourself or where youre running. not hard

I mean it's not that simple. As Lux, you'll never be able to snare him because his shield is applied instantaneously without a cast time. If you throw your E on top of yourself or where you're walking, he just won't fight you until it's down, meaning all you did was waste mana and a cooldown.

You also have to remember his passive shield, essentially negating the damage from one of your spells. Even if he does walk into your E, he still wins the trade because it cost you mana, and he most likely got more damage off because of it.

I don't really hate it all that much

But I tend to be kindof aggressive when I really want to kill yasuo lol

the only mage i can think of that hard counters yasuo is malzahar. although malzahar is in a pretty bad state right now, but most of the time yasuo mains are in hell when laning against him. i think a decent bit even dodge.
