What's the difference between Stun and Suppress?

Always been a bit confused about this. Both immobilize the enemy champion and prevent them from attacking, both can be removed by cleanses, what's the difference?

Surpressions also impact the one casting it.

When an irelia stuns you, she finishes her cast time and is freee to move, attack you or whatever she wants. If a Malzahar/Warwick ults you, they can't move either untill the ability is finished or canceled.

Suppresses prevent you from using Summoner spells (including summoner 1) and can't be reduced by tenacity.

Suppression disables your ability to use things like Smite, I'm fairly certain.. unless they fixed that and stun hits that too.

I don't think you can cleanse suppress since it blocks summs
