I'm calling it right now. This guy is going to be overpowered as all hell. Here's why:

  1. He transforms by collecting souls from either melee or ranged champions. The transformation from ranged souls makes him stronger against ranged champions, and the same with the melee transformation. This means that if he camps botlane and kills the adc a few times, he then gets to be even stronger against said adc. This means he'll be oppressive as fuck if he gets any kind of early lead.
  2. His versatility is absolutely massive. Dying too fast? Become a darkin and heal for half your hp every time you do a spell rotation. Getting kited? Become the shadow assassin and fuck their carries. Team not have enough cc? Darkin. Their Sion really good with the hard engage? Shadow assassin. A good Kayn player will be able to adapt to pretty much any situation they might come across, making it almost impossible to keep this guy down in the long run.
  3. That. Fucking. Ultimate. Is so overpowered I don't even know where to start. Okay, I lied, I do know where to start. It gives him like 3 seconds of invulnerability as a carry. And people complained about Xayah ult! He can literally just ult someone at the start of a teamfight, avoid all the enemy team's burst, then pop out, kill the guy he ulted, and proceed to mop up the the rest of his opponents whose abilities are now all on cooldown. And that's not all. Shen ulting to botlane? Fuck you I'm Kayn. Sion trying to ult away to escape you? Fuck you I'm Kayn. Fucking Ekko trying to Rewind? Fuck you, I'm Kayn. You beginning to see the picture here? Add to that the fact that if you ult a tank in darkin form, it heals you for 3/4 of your god damn hp. And you can literally just ult a carry and now they cant escape you and when you pop out you just burst them into oblivion, AND thats even easier as the shadow assassin. You see what I mean? YOU SEE?!

Ok. Ok. My point is, this guy is just way too good at way too many things. I mean hell, I didn't even go into the fact that he can walk through fucking walls and I painted a pretty good picture of an OP champ anyway. I will lay odds that this guy receives absolutely massive nerfs in the next patch after he gets played on the PBE, and even after that he probably will still be strong just because his basic design is so. Fucking. Busted.

Anyone with me on this?

I don't know why this was downvoted; he has a disgusting kit. Walking through walls heals him, Darkin ult heals him, %Max health damage on Q and R in Darkin. I'd always strive for Darkin. It doesn't matter how poorly my ADC does, because the enemy doesn't have one either. I don't know if he will follow Shen and Sion's ult, but I don't see why he wouldn't based on Riot's consistency designs. LeeSin can ward-hop over walls, but Kayn can walk through them. Kayn can massively slow you on the other side of the wall, walk through it to you, and kill you. I wonder if his Q can also traverse terrain.

I disagree on your point about verstility. The player can't necessarily alter their intention to vary based on the outcomes of the enemy, considering his transformation is dependent on what he kills and he'll need to lay the foundations of his build before he actually transforms.

I'm not with you on this. To me, this is classic "I explained every scenario in the best possible possible light and it makes the champ sound very OP."

Seriously, two of his abilities are almost boring they are so simple. One skillshot and one dash with AoE slash. He's a champ that has some interesting abilities, to be sure, but I don't understand the hullabaloo about it. The most OP thing in there is E, and no one is even talking about that. That's where he's going to make a valuable jungler.

The rest of his kit is pretty simple, to be honest. His ult isn't even that unique considering that we have Zed. I don't understand what the problem is.

So he's been out for about two days now, and im not goig to play this game until he inevitably gets nerfed on the next patch, i dont care how fucked up his passive is, he should have waaaaaaaaay longer cooldowns, if he's going to be a an annoying piece of shit atleast make him one of those if i E now i wont be able to E till the next team fight, not a fucking R spamming piece of shit.

Yup yup yup. Im sticking to aram until he gets nerfed. Why does riot even have a beta phase? this motherfucker clearly was not thought through, i swear to god they do this intentionally just to create hype for the new champs, it's always like: he's so broken im going to buy and instalock him, and then two weeks later he gets nerfed until he's shit.

WE ALL KNOW THE NERF IS COMING RITO STOP MESSING WITH US AND JUST DO IT ALREADY.

But rito being so lcs driven might not even recognize him as a problem until lcs starts.

Now i dont know what's worse; having another Cancer champion in this game or having another champion that will be nerfed to hell until he's no longer playable.

I sort of agree with this actually! Yeah you do pick according to their comp but you can't control who gets fed if it isn't your lane. Something goes wrong in bottom lane go shadow assasin. Someone fed Gailo? Go darkin. I don't think he's busted and i think he's incredibly strong just not overpowered. He's like the Ahri of jungle safe pick regardless of any matchup and always has a chance to shine and carry. His E heal and ability to walk through walls is lovely but it's not a solve all problems it can backfire if you're in combat. As for R aren't ultimate supposed to be strong? It's very compatible to Zed R and people don't complain about that too often... I agree though he's very strong. Most of your points are situations he is strong in but isn't it a little situational there? I think he's good because he can build anything and is good.

ok. Today he came out. He is a fucking stupid champion. He is way to op, it's absolutely not funny play against him, oh yeah i'm about to kill him SAIK, he goes away in the walls, SAIK, he ult on me and he gain back his fucking health bar etc.. To make matter worse now he is new, so i found him IN EVERY LANE, i go top with gp, HERE HE IS, i go jungle with ivern, HERE I IS, i even found him on botlane as a support cause he instalocked! I might be a cringy bronze noob, but i hate this champion a lot

Aurelion Sol was the last great champ...

I lost all the excite after that with new champs...only Ivern could be fun with some changes but really he doesnt worth his price.

Riot only trying to do trolls OP champs and skin sellers is sad.

Where is new abilities? Where is the creative team? We are only able to get jumpers champs....¿?

We need champs fun to play and fun to fight agaisnt them, but Stop stressing people... Lol isnt be a shooter or a platform game.

Just like with Zed, people will simply camp you until you come out of the ult. The ult alone isn't going to kill anybody. If you do ult first thing, people might not even use their spells on you until you come out again.

You can't just switch because you feel like it, you need the soul energy or whatever first and have fun getting it when you never reach those ranged characters.

Fizz's E can do what Kayn's let does. Also, if Fizz is fed, he is almost unstoppable and can delete even some tanks. Also he can get tank items for defense if need be. Point is, fizz is just like kayn. Also if being good at your champion (A good Kayn player will be able to adapt to pretty much any situation) means that it gets nerfed, then people like zed should be nerfed to the ground.

I agree on the concept of snowballiness... but the rest I think it's too soon to tell. We haven't seen it played much yet and there's lots of room for buffs and nerfs during PBE testing.

I wouldn't hang my hat up yet.

The other things I can deal with. At least you can still hit him while he is in a wall but the Ult has a ridiculous range. And the Invulnerability is a bit ridiculous. Having now finally played against him ( as Viktor) so I know I was at a disadvantage. But still the range on an ability that gives you that much of a benefit needs to be toned down. I can deal with the rest of his kit but Ult needs to have a disadvantage. Make it have a grab range or something. You shouldn't be able to ult someone who is well past the range on your Q. That's my only complaint.

It just seems that nowadays Riot is making these Champs so that the old ones just become obsolete. And I get that's the price of progress but something needs to change for this guy.
