Can we try having really strong towers in Preseason 8?

Basically the title. Use preseason to see how the game will be with towers that aren't useless. Such a change would make ohmwrecker somewhat useful. Right now anything just melts towers with ease and they just tickle pretty much anybody that dives. Super minions slap down current towers in seconds.

Buff ideas: Bring back the shield on Tier 2 towers.

Change turret damage to be flat true damage, making high health tanks more relevant.

Bring back laser turrets with higher damage output.

Inhib and nexus towers with multi targeting.

Bring back elixir of ruin if towers had more health.

Just a few ideas, they might suck I don't know. Buffs are very unlikely to happen as for some reason games just get shorter and shorter each season and I feel like it doesn't fit in with Riots future plans at all.

Will never happen. Stronger towers (no matter where you put the "strength" be it damage or durability, etc) means longer games, which hurts the bottom line for esports profits because the current generation has zero attention span.

In before downvoted to oblivion for pointing out the simple facts.

PS: I agree with you OP, the towers are garbage and I genuinely miss back in the day when every tower shot hurt like hell. Towers were a genuine threat back then, and solo diving (which is the norm nowadays) was a suicide mission.

With the new Demolition rune for tanks, having stronger towers will be a great thing.

Well I for one would hate it if towers were made so strong it takes 5 people to take it down, but l would welcome buffs.

I definitely enjoy 90 minutes game lol. /s

Just buff damage or defense WITHOUT making turrets multi target , deal true damage or some other dumb shit

What would be funny is for the Rift towers to get the Twisted Treeline Nexus tower treatment. Sure, 2.5 attack speed is probably too much, but it'd be fun to see towers do something even if we'd all suffer when trying to CS under towers early game.

No i like weak towers. makes the games shorter and punishes mistakes more.

Every one talks shit when they lose their tower 4v2 bot, but no1 complains when they do that to the enemy team.

keeping 5 people in a game for 10 more minutes even though there is no chance they can turn the game around would just make players go back to opening mid and would make the game even less enjoyable. This has nothing to do with esports, not even 10% of the community watches riots esports events.

I've said it 100 times, I'll say it again,** stronger towers means longer games.**

Not everyone is 14 and can come home from school to hop into a league game with an average length of ~45 minutes. Many of us have jobs, families, and college degrees to work for. We don't have the time to sit in a game for an hour because people want turrets to be "strong". There is literally no upside to having stronger turrets.

We had a meta where turrets were strong. It was a time I don't think many current players remember because the game wasn't anywhere near as large as it is now. Quick refresher, strong turrets created a meta where people sat in lane for 25 minutes and farmed. Everything had to scale because games pretty much always made it into the late game which severely limited the champion pool. Nothing happened until everyone had like 3-4 items. It made closing out games take FOREVER because sieging took so long. Teams would get baron get a turret, maybe 2, then reset and go back to farming until baron was up again. The way current MM works, most games are pretty one sided and keeping 5 people in the game who pretty much have no chance of winning isn't fun for anyone. The way current MM works favors shorter because people can get out of poorly made games faster and the good players can win faster.

I will say, that damage just seems too high across the board especially on adcs but people who want strong turrets either don't remember the meta where they were strong or didn't play at all during that time.

Dont bring back shields on towers this only serves to make split pushing bruisers irrelevant as one person under a tower means that you cant do any meaningful damage to a tower because you dont have enough damage to burst right through the shield like an adc or what mages now have and you will just take free damage from the person under tower. Adversly the other type of shield that shielded allies around the tower made divers and assassins irrelivant. towers need more health and more scaling damage per minute even if minions hp pools have to be increased to keep the 2 hit minions riot wants.

They already told patch 7.23 will have changes to turret tanking ability as well as minions scaling.

The return of waveclearing and sieging 24/7 because the towers were too strong.

If that's what you wanted, then go for it.

I think towers that hit harder and more responsive to enemy champs sounds like a better idea IMO.

Wtf people talking about the games are shorter.. Not in Bronze and Wood Queue. I had a 45 minute game today, a 60 minute one a few weeks ago. and a 90 minute one about a month ago.

I want upgradable turrets

something ive advocated for a long time

Spend some golds make your turret big and fat

BobaFlautist11/5/2017, 1:28:38 AM1 votes

Stronger turrets buffs hypercarries and everything that helps them - enchanters, supertanks, etc. Are you sure you want that.

DuskDaUmbreon11/4/2017, 2:23:09 PM1 votes

Yeah, dunno about you, but I sure as hell don't want them that strong.

They need to be durable, but not goddamned bunkers at every stage of the game.

StairCasexd11/4/2017, 1:14:48 PM1 votes

I just want them to have the defence or hp increase. I don't think they need bonuses like multi target or sheilds.
