Is poppy just a pure tank now?

All i been playing since 5.24 but i just cant seem to get a grasp on her. She just can't build damage without being irelevant. So is the only to make he viable is just to go full tank?

bruiser build is probably your best option. with focus on cdr.

i mean thats what i usually do. But she is so weak overall. Like chasing with her is hard because once your passive is up and you try to E. You stutter because now she is ranged and you can't get in close enough to attack because ur AA is longer than ur E active.

I feel like you can get away with 1 or 2 damage items, but that's it. After that you need tank items or you die so quickly it's not even funny

Trinity/Rageblade/Cleaver + 4 Tank items + boots. She scales poorly with dps items with her low AS. Building her like her like assassin with CDR and raw damage is also bad - she has short range on E and gets kited/ bursted. Good laning and can snowball with some damage, but without tankiness you will start feeding.

I hate pure tank poppy right now! Her bases damages are way to low for her to be a full on tank. I like bruiser poppy better.

Example build would be item 3071 item 3053 item 3742 item 3065 item 1400 item 3047 .

Then again I've also thought poppy excels in the jungle in her current state. I haven't enjoyed poppy in top. Really fun in support once laning phase ends but while in laning phase is going on its quite boring. Poppy is a a lot like alistar when laning. All you wanna do is roam which is why i'm playing jungle poppy more.

I also forgot to add that health items on poppy are really really nice. Her passive when you pick up a buckler give you 15% of your hp as a shield. This makes tanking dragon super easy also very helpful in team fights as you will be in their face 24/7.

I mean poppy is a support and jungle right now. She is terrible top. Support is the one place she is excellent. Honestly riot has made her a support now. She can no longer hold her own top, and jungle is good but its just so hard.
