For reference, btw, Fate/Zero has the much better story and characters, while Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works fight scenes are some of the most glorious in anime.

Be sure to check out it's Prequel: Fate/Zero. Just be sure to pay attention with Fate/Stay Night as there are three versions of the anime. The original series, the Unlimited Blade Works movie, and the new Unlimited Blade Works series.

If you've already seen Fate/Zero, then I suggest you avoid the first Fate/Stay Night. That's the one that came out first, so it's not as good as it's prequel. Before I knew there was a movie (and before the new series began getting aired) I had made the mistake of watching them in chronological order (Fate/Zero THEN Fate/Stay Night). I ended up regretting that decision...

In short, if it says Fate/Stay Night, but doesn't have Unlimited Blade Works in the title as well, then that's the first one. Aim for the Unlimited Blade Works version. There is only one thing about the original that I like more than the Blade Works.

You are correct. Thing about the Holy Grail war is that servants can meet the requirements for more than one class. They can only be summoned into one class at a time, but they do have other classes available to them in future Grail Wars. Fate/Stay Night's lancer, for example, CAN actually be summoned as a Caster class servant due to his knowledge on magic runes. Or Lu Bu from ancient China. He's met so many requirements that the only two classes that he CAN'T be summoned into are Caster and Saber.

I'm going to have to argue with you on that point. Fate is my favorite series by far. It's just that due to the fact that I am not from Japan, I do not have access to the parts of the Fate series that are Japanese only (Fate/Strange Fake, and Fate/Apocrypha for example).
