How do you counter Tryndamere in blind pick?

No rant, just want to improve against somebody I struggle against. So there are plenty of posts about this already but all of them are in regards to ranked/draft when you can either ban him or pick a counter. But what can you do against him in normals (both when you are also top and if you are in another lane)? It seems like the only options come mid game are:

  1. Ignore his splitpushing and hope you can push towers faster in another lane 5v4. Though I have had issues with this if we don't have a strong tank or the enemy have good waveclear
  2. Try and fend him off 1v1. Usually just ends in an easy kill for him because ult.
  3. Send 2 people to deal with him and try to 3v4 which ends in a lost teamfight and him just surviving anyway.

Are any of these the 'correct' way to deal with it or is there a fourth option i haven't thought of?

Step 1: Play draft pick Step 2: Ban him

I used to main Trynd for 2 years. So here's some pointers.

1v1.

How? When he ults, use anything you can to make space. Be it a slow, stun, knock up, push back, etc. Makw distance and wait. If you have DoT use it. When his ult ends 99% of the time he's so close to death that DoT will kill him the moment it ends. Duelists destroy him. Tanks destroy him. Build any armor and you win lane.

The only way trynd can win a 1v1 fight is if he has full rage and goes in on you after your cc is down. If you cant kite him, his dmg will destroy you. But, cc him and let his rage wear down or his ult to end and he only has a small heal which removes his main damage when used and a spin he may or may not have. If he crits enough he has it. If he can't crit he has no escape.

His w annoys people. But basically its useless if you run at him. It only slows you down if you run away. Face him as he uses it and you arent slowed. His w has a dmg reduction which is leveled last and at first hardly matters.

I'm a bit new, but from what i can gather he's extremely weak to CC. If you're playing someone who can CC him (Whether that be a heavy slow or a stun or a root) then you could outplay him and make him waste his ult. Idk how long the cooldown is for it but i actually won a game because i CC'd him while he was solo diving our nexus and froze him under one of our turrets. I charmed him as Evelynn, chilling smited him and by this point he was in the middle of our nexus and our middle turret with no ult so GG.

His Q cost him damage to heal so once he heals use any edge you have on him (CC, all in combo, ultimate, etc.). The idea is to get him low safely then when he cast his heal you should burst him down with all your damage. This sounds like work but for someone like Olaf or Cho'Gath, once you do this then Tryndamere doesn't have any counterplay unless he flashes or ults, in which case you just gained an edge over him. If you kite him then beating him should be no problem. His E (Spin to win) is his only escape so once he uses that to poke you or dive you then he can't run anymore. A decent jungler camping your lane will see this and dive him instantly. His Ult seems great but most top laners have some form of CC and his Ult only last 8 seconds. That's a long time, but not if you CC him, and he waste it trying to catch up to you.

That's all i've got. Hope it helped.

I need to know the champions you play normally so i can help you better. But generally build bramblevest early if your a tank and use your tp to answer his. Late game u can usually answer his splitpush but just posting up at the tower hes pushing to. Also dont fall for the first 3 melee minions where he spins over then and starts whacking you trying to crit. Also watch for his lvl 2 cheese. Cc is tryndameres worst nightmare which u want to save for his ult if u can. Make sure u turn back to face him right before he uses his chicken so he doesnt get the slow off. Also in laning phase u want to bully him if he has no fury.

Unless Trynd is way ahead of his lane opponent, I don't think that he should be able to 1v1 most champions under turret.

Obviously, it depends on the champion you are playing. If you are someone remotely tanky/bruisery, just build to counter him. Thornmail/tabi's/randuins should be your armor items against him. These will strongly reduce his ability to 1v1 under turret. You can buy whatever you want after that.

If you are playing against Tryndamere, you realistically will get stuck spending a lot of time hanging out under turret. It's not the most fun thing to do, but that's how you stop his split push.

When you have teleport up, you can try to force a fight with your team 5v4, win, then teleport back to deal with his split push.

Some champs like Nasus, Yorick and Shen can beat a tyrndamere. Nasus and Yorick are self explanatory since they excel at split pushing. As Shen, rush a Titanic Hydra, get tabis and bramble vest then build accordingly. Titanic hydra is one of the best items for Shen when it comes to waveckear. A much better option than Sunfire cape.

Against Tryn? Force objectives when he tries to push. Tryn is useless beyond tower pushing now a days. The enemy team has 1 man down essentially, so it gives you the advantage in that department.

Depends on your champion. There's not a sure fire way like "jump over his e, press x,y,x,x, crouch, move left until he's dead". League just isn't that kind of game and it's all situational

Play someone with a lot of utility/CC, but can defend themselves if necessary.

item 3082 is your best friend if you are in a tough matchup against him. Just warden's mail reduces Tryndamere's damage by about 50%.
