How do you ADC in team fights?

Hi all, I mostly play top or support but I'm trying to get batter at ADC. How the hell do you do team fights? If i get close enough to AA then i get focused by the entire enemy team, if i stay back further then its a 4v5 and I'm useless. Even if i wait for the enemy to focus somebody else and join the team fight mid way, they just drop what they are doing and nuke me. It's not even a one off, it happens every single game i try an ADC.

Would love some dank tips from you guys, thanks.

AA whoever's in front of you. Be ready to kite back when they come at you.

I'm a life long support main who's been trying to learn how to ADC as of late, and an honest tip? Try Jhin. My biggest issue was staying still long enough to focus my autos as other ADCs, which usually resulted in me cancelling them constantly whilst trying to reposition and having poor DPS as a result. Since Jhin does the same damage in less shots, it feels much easier to get your damage off to me. You've also got your W and ult to contribute to fights if one starts with you too far away.

For a bonus, go for a crit build on him instead of the meta sheep Korean build (IE into RFC). Constantly getting crits keeps your movespeed nice and high to make it even easier. Beyond that you've just gotta pray that your team can peel. I remember getting yelled at for not being in a team fight once because I was busy being zoned by a fed Katarina and no one was helping xD

I would take the time to explain, but this video explains it the best. there are certain phases of a team fight to look for and if you can recognize and react you will better your team fight very quickly. really its just being patient and waiting for the right moments to go in initially on tanks and then looking for opportunities to hit the backline.
