Can we turn Katarina into a better 1v1 champion?

I don't enjoy her being a bad duelist, she isn't like Elise Akali or zed, or Fiora. I mean she's great in team fights and is unique in combat, but , she would lose agaisnt Ryze, she would lose agaisnt most AD fighters. IF you place her on the howling abysm agaisnt Zed, Akali, and most champions she would lose. She isn't a good top laner. I mean she's good agaisnt many adcs, and supports, but if its agaisnt an assassin fighter, or tank fighter she would most likely lose. She isn't a champion who would win in the howling abyss 1v1.

I am saying this because Katarina is the champion in the terms of fashion, physical features, fighting and ability style I like the most. If Riot isn't going to make her a better duelist like Zed, Elise, Fiora, Master yi, Olaf, or Akali, can we make a top laner duelist assassin with the most beautiful physical features, elegant clothing, and long hair, that's the kind of champions that are my style like Katarina?

not as long as one kill turns into 5 in team fights for her. she pays a lot of prices to have her reset passive, and she NEEDS to pay those prices to be fair. she's obnoxious enough to play against as it is.

This is not a new thing either. She has quite literally always had this level of potential. Her purpose is as an assassin, as is zed's.

Except if she doesn't get the kill she's screwed. Unless she is fed, all it takes is a item 3065 on each enemy to completely ruin her, and force her to end the game 0/9

in what world does item 3065 stop a kat? You have a 2000x better chance to stop her with item 3102 but yet, still, late-game she's fully capable of melting an entire team with both items.

Back to the point, she's more than sufficient in lane and does what she's meant to - short engages which she scales out of control from being even one kill ahead.

I build item 3089 item 3157 item 3001 item 3116 item 3115 item 3135 and my ult cannot kill tanks or MR in one go. I have to go get a double kill on some squishies so I can channel death lotus twice, the only way i can kill tanks or anyone who built a fair amount of magic resist.

Kat cannot goe toe to toe against tanks unless she is fed.

Why Rylai's unless against heavy CC? Nashors is also more of a waste if you ask me, AS doesn't do her a whole lot of good and her CDs essentially reset due to her passive. You're not going to be chasing anyone, your idea is to melt them.

try this: item 3259 item 3151 item 3157 item 3089item 3135

as well as one of these: item 3146 item 3026 item 3001 boots are important and Liandry's goes well with death blossom, as we all know how much an AP teemo shroom hurts late-game - think about that on Kat.

She's meant to be played as a backline assassin, take out the carries first, deal with the low damage tanks last. Pretty much how all assassins work. I've never had any trouble melting anyone despite them having built item 3102 item 3065

PS, as kat - try to roam, it becomes incredibly easy to dive and pick up kills at 6, even easier if you rush void staff second.

TBH I rarely get to play kat, because my elo thinks she's OP so she always gets banned, but next time i get a chance i will try out your suggestions.

I just played one on my main account, 32-3 against an ahri lane in gold 3 with an AP amumu jungle, Darius top, Caitlyn/Alistar bot lane. this was my end-game build

I always have trouble in the laning phase as kat, and Ahri in particular is a champ i really struggle laning against. Thanks for the build though.

Try maxing her Q first and using e/w only when they engage or after you've gone back for your first back before 6 (unless you're playing vs heimerdinger, in which case Q his turrets and engage as often as you can while his W's down)

I wouldn't do gunblade, yeah its ap got buffed but as kata you really need to get the most out of your dmg. rylais imo is one of the better options atm. also I wouldn't have gotten an abyssal. if you really needed mr and ESPECIALLY against the team you just said I would have gone a banshees veil.

I don't think I stuttered, 32-3 worked fine for me. Rylai's would've worked if their team wasn't comprised of melting everyone and having no real tank (ali wasn't very tanky and darius went full AD)

the katarina NOW yeah she can 1v5 but in a 1v1 match up katarina can shit on and win the early game but as the game progress katarina will start to have a much more difficult time fighting the opponent

even in normal games if katarina is the same level as the enemy; katarina is gonna have a much harder time fighting the enmy because katarina will only have to daggers to proc and if she misses those two daggers katarina most likely lost the fight katarina isnt a very good duelist tbh

she is much better in teamfights or in 1v2 or even in 1v5 because its much easier for katarina to proc her daggers on the ground and that makes it much easier to kill the enemy katarina imo has a much harder time in a 1v1

If you do that, you'll have to give up on her passive. You can't have amazing 1v1 and a full reset of all of your damage.

Play Nidalee, Fiora, Ahri, Akali or Rek Sai. There are plenty of female duelists for you to jerk off to.

Nobody is going to destroy Katarina's unique niche and turn her into a standard duelist just because you asked. Just play her top lane if you want to. She has a lot of safety with her shunpo jump and ranged poke. I have a friend who plays Katarina support a lot just because he can.

an AoE assassin champ who gets resets on all of her abilities can't start out outdueling champs designed specifically for dueling... that'd be totally retarded.
