One thing bugging me about the new champ...

So just saw the Camille release page, and I am so psyched to try her out. She looks really cool and has a kit style I think I'll like, but there's just one thing that throws it off for me:

The way they described her weaknesses

To quote the page, "Like other champs that demand razor-sharp ability executions, Camille is noticeably less effective in the hands of an unpracticed player." That's it. Her weakness is that she's hard to use and requires decision making.

Riot, I thought you've learned from your mistakes by now. Having "tough to play" be a champ's primary weakness is lousy game design. That's how we got champs like Lee sin LeeSin, Riven Riven, Azir Azir, Kalista Kalista, Fiora Fiora etc. that rose up as meta-dominating pub stompers for whole seasons until gutted to the point of unplayability.

It's good that she's not been released yet, because I'm curious to see how accurate that blurb really was. I'm hopeful that there's more to it, but please Riot, be wary of making the same mistakes all over again.

You people are so dishonest that it's disgusting. Here's her whole section on weaknesses instead of just the part you cherrypicked.

Like other champs that demand razor-sharp ability executions, Camille is noticeably less effective in the hands of an unpracticed player. Aside from her basic mechanical demands, most teamfights require you to be particularly creative with your approach—you've got to Hookshot in at the right moment (when enemy CC is down), preferably from an unexpected angle. The Steel Shadow isn't very effective as an initiator, unless she's using her ult to hold down a lone target while her team catches up.

Since Camille's shield is specifically based off of her opponent's damage type, it's far less effective in teamfights than it might otherwise be in a one-on-one duel. Locking down that exposed AD carry likely won't be enough when a fed Syndra comes storming in. AOE champs in general are tough for the Steel Shadow: she'll want to slip past enemy abilities entirely, not muscle through a wall of explosions.

When I read that weakness nonsense too, I thought "Ahh Great! The fighter version of Azir! Azir demands knowledge as of how to play him well. so that is his weakness. So it is perfectly fine for him to be mobile, attack speed reliant, engage and disengage, and all that other nonense that champs have without having one capitalized weakness that no one can take hold except that an unskilled player is his weakness."

Really Riot? Really. The heck. Time for some player to go and find her, play her, farm her, grind her, and be the most annoying fighter based Azir assassin in the game (I know she is a fighter but seeing how she is 1v1 based, has max HP and true damage.... come on now). Riot never listens nor ever learns.... Sigh.

WEll... one good thing will come from this... no actually 2:

  1. Diana should be 4800 IP--- I can get her for the lower IP price and save 1500 IP (I am a smart consumer)
  2. Fiora and Riven can now have a run for their money as who is the best split pusher is.

My main problem is that they even create characters that need to have a weakness be "weaker in the hand of an unpracticed player." That should be a rule that applies to every champion. Sure, they should need to be playable, but I don't like that there are characters that they make solely for players that are experts at all this precision. They're always far more effective than any other champ, which leads to a feeling of superiority among those who play them. I've gotten mocked for picking tristana, just because she's not as flashy and precision based.

Her weakness is that she requires finess to show off her true strength. She can't brute force fights like someone such as Sion or Xin. She wants to find an isolated target and remove them from the game with surgical precision. Her Q takes time to charge amd her passive only blocks one type of damage, neither of which is handy in a team fight.
