ARAM and bushes

This has been a pet-peeve and perhaps I'm remembering incorrectly, but I'm trying to figure out why enemies are able to do damage from bushes in ARAM without revealing themselves.

Case-in-point, it used to be that Shaco boxes were revealed after they started doing damage in the bush. However, perhaps from the past couple patches, that was changed so that the source of damage remains hidden until you hop in to a bush. Is there any reason that's been changed or is it just a bug?
