Why does aatrox ult fear minions?

Aatrox is a top lane fighter and his ulti incentivizes using it att the start of the fight, a core fundamental component of league is handshaking fights in advantageous positions, this is most notable in solo lanes through minion advantage.

I get it for darius and urgot ulti, they end fights, but aatrox should be looking to start fights with ulti and having minion advantage is a part of the look

I just saw an aatrox lose a lane off this mechanic and it was so depressing, it's cool but that's a weird sacrifice to make for good gameplay

It prevents minion aggro, and minion block. Which is actually quite good for a fighter champion.

I main Aatrox and I hate the fact that his ult his own minions.... I mean, if it only feared the enemy minions it'll be very good but the fact that it fears yours too make it completely useless and can be problematic.
