How Often do you get AFKs in ranked?

How many afk's do you guys get in ranked? I have hated ranked since season 4 because clear back then I wanted to get to Plat, was gold 1, then had 14 afk games in a row and dropped to G5. Every season since I have really wanted to get back into ranked, but just have a horrible experience because of afks, so I end up just hitting gold so I can get that limited edition Victorious skin then call it quits. I'm currently in my placements for season 7, and here is the basic rundown. 4 of my games have been victories, and sure I didn't hard carry in all of them, but we won. The other 3 games I have played in placements so far have been losses... because I had an afk. So 3 out of 7 games, almost 50% of ranked games this season have been afks. Afks ruined season 4, 5, and 6 for me and are already making me want to give up for season 7.

How often do you guys get afks in ranked. I have so many friends that love ranked so much but I just can't take it seriously. How can ranked be an expression of your skill, say, if you are dropped from G1 to G5 from 14 afk games in a row? How can ranked be an expression of your skill of 50% of your placements have afks? Remake was a step in the right direction I guess, but remake hasn't saved me once yet in ranked yet because everyone who afks is someone who is a try hard, dies once and quits, or blames the team for giving first blood then quits. When almost EVERY SINGLE loss you ever have is because of an afk on your team, and almost EVERY SINGLE victory is because you actually won the 5v5 game, what the hell can you do? The enemy team gets afks probably once in every 30 games for me, meanwhile I'm sitting over here at 50% this season. It's so frustrating to be a player who loves League and has played since Season 1, but be so turned off to what so many other people like because ranked is just not fun.

I have over 5000 normal games, probably am close to 7k games in all queues if you include featured game modes, the old Dominion, etc, and I love League. I play it every day and I love the competitive feeling of winning a hard fought victory, but when the mode that is actually intended to be competitive is just so garbage and punishes players who just want to have a fun experience, I don't understand. Sure, afks happen in normal games maybe once in every 50 games, but most of those people just never connect so the game can be remade. Plus in blind, which is what I play, comebacks 4v5 are super possible because not everyone counterpicks each other.

Anyways, this was just a rant for me to vent and I am sorry for all the negativity. I just wanted to ask you guys in the comments, how often do you get afks on your team? It's so frustrating and completely undermines actually having skill and trying to win. Sure, I feed sometimes and throw games, everybody does, but there is nothing more demoralizing than being screwed from the getgo because as soon as your Yasuo mid dies he afks or your Varus bot dies he sits in base and spams chat saying "I'm not even mad, just want this waste of time to be over :) :) :)." I love League, it is definitely my favorite multiplayer game of all time and possibly my favorite game of all time full stop. I've played it since season 1 and have been hooked ever since, only ever taking a few weeks off for finals or personal reasons, even when other games I love come out I will still play League about 50% of the time when the new game just dropped. And on a positive note, the community has gotten so much better and the game has as well (some individual patches with horrific balance outliers aside.) I just wish after one of your teammates left the game at 8 minutes you could too. Like, "alright guys this game is no longer 5v5 and is no longer serious, we're 10 kills ahead but there is now a 5% chance of winning because our mid quit after having a mental breakdown and raging too hard" Just make it so if the rage quiter is premade the premade gets a loss so they aren't immune, and give the winning team a victory still. It's that easy. Getting an afk before 20 results in a victory for the other team, a loss for the premade of whoever quit, and all the poor solo players can just leave instead of playing halfheartedly knowing their rank will drop because of something out of their hands. I truly do not care if the other team gets a rank up, I just want me myself to be protected from afks...

But like I said, since season 4 I've hated ranked and this is why, and it seems no fix is in sight for players like me who are just profoundly unlucky with their leavers.
