To split or not to split

The enemy Leona presses R stunning half the 2 of our team, who are immediately wombo combo'd into an Anivia stun and pop like the brainless balloons they are. Desperately the fed Akali engages with Nami hoping to fend them off long enough for Urgot to come in and clean them up by pressing R fearing 4 of them and scaring off the rest... but Urgot never comes. "Wow you guys are F****** R******* why would you fight them when I am top," he says pushing their 2nd tier tower. By this time they are on the nexus. "Great throw guys".

Since when is pushing for a tier 2 tower worth your team, who is behind, having to defend against the fed 5 man enemy team. The fed top laner needs to be in the fight, instead he pings missing on us for being engaged on dying and then rather than back to try and defend the nexus towers he finished the tier 2 tower and backs, at which point they are on our nexus killing it. But it was our fault.
