Why shorter games?

What's the reason behind shorter games? League used to be a strategy game where any team could outplay the other if smart enough even when behind. Now the game is decided within 10 min. As soon as the bot tower is destroyed it's gg, enemy team just comes 4 mid dives then can smash through the towers getting an inhib at 15-20 minutes. Towers are so weak right now they get melted and you can't defend because you will just be dove. Why not make the games longer, a tower buff is needed. The longer the game the more chances there are to come back from having a bad team.

i heard a reason is because of internet cafes. mostly the asian countries will be going and trying to jump into as many games as quick as possible, but for some reason the meta has shifted towards that.

most of asia plays in internet cafes.

shorter games means they get more games in per day. theyre catering to the asian market.

not that the game can neccessarily handle it, but theye doing it.

Riot has stated they are against doing anything to lengthen game time. Why? Who knows.

Because no one outside ADC mains enjoys 50 minutes games

Mid main here to debunk your statement. I MUCH prefer longer games.

Oh yeah, another hyperscaling role enjoys long-ass games, who could have expected that.

It's for worlds. People don't like watching long games, after seeing what happened in Season 7.

I'd say mainly because of societal factors more than anything else. With inflation constantly increasing the costs of living for the developed world, young people (i.e. those between the ages of 16 and 30) need to devote more hours to work and/or school in order to sustain themselves, consequently leaving them less time for video games. Riot has realized this and simply adapted to the changing environment by reducing overall game times to give people more incentive to play League of Legends.

And forcing the entire player base to is what's amplifying the hostile environment; if you want a short game there's aram and twisted treeline, or even CoD XD

To be honest Riot has so many failsafes in place against stalling games that longer games now would just be terrible. Minions gain more and more HP, and resistances while people who are behind have more trouble catching up due to those factors. They can't even farm if the game goes on long enough and they're still a decent bit behind so comebacks are rarer.
