Are ADCs really UP as people say they are?

NOTE: I might be wrong because I'm currently an unranked scrub. So many people are saying ADCs suck now or something, and I don't understand that. In norms, when I play twitch and get a decent CS and decent kills, when we get into teamfights, no one seems to want to attack the little rat in the back that is ripping the enemy apart until they're hp is at least halfway gone. And then they flee because the ripping dosent end. I just pickdd up a quadra with him recently.... are ADCs really UP or am I just an unranked skrub

The issue isn't that ADCs are weak. If they manage to get their items, they are just as strong as they always have been.

The issue is that games are often decided before they get their items.

Even if they get ahead, that is generally the result of their allies' performance rather than their own.

This is the result of the heavy focus on bottom lane by top, jungle and mid due to the presence of FB Tower and Dragon.

I mean.. you literally just typed out the problem with the games you were playing.

No one knew how to focus.

In higher MMR it would be different.

Are ADCs bad? Not completely useless, since people are starting to play utility ADCs like Jhin Ashe Varus.

its just that most of the early game ones are weak, and the late game ones are usually weak early.

ADC historically are perhaps the most team reliant class.

The support has more power in lane Tanks control team fights Assassins and burst mages are built to one shot marksmen

So where does the ADC get to shine? Team fights where you can take advantage of your ranged sustain and hit enemies while they focus others. That's their niche unless fed.
