Can I earn Hextech keys/chests in ARAM? Or only on SR?

No... its only in SR. As someone from the PBE and who followed this on surrenderat20.net, since there is no Mastery system on ARAM (or Twisted Treeline) you won't be able to get chests or keys from playing them.

"Keys, perhaps unsurprisingly, open chests. Key fragments will sometimes drop after victory in any matchmade game mode--unlike chests, you can earn keys in ARAM or Twisted Treeline. Three key fragments can be forged into a single key; you can also purchase keys through the store for RP. Key fragments drop a little more frequently when you play with friends!" This is from their Hextech crafting page. You can get Keys on both Aram and Twisted Treeline. Yasuo for President!

Its been a year ago but I have played here or there and did play some times during weekends... so it has been changed to work on everything (even Rotating Game Modes). Not sure why my previous post had to get down voted.

Riot said they were going to implement Mastery in other game modes, they are just fine tuning it on SR first before implementing it.

I also recall them saying they were going to role out the Mastery system for the Featured gamemode rotation when that comes.

Each time you win any matchmade game, there’s a chance you’ll earn a key and winning with friends increases the chance of a key drop. Generally, you can expect to earn a few keys each month. I quoted their news release page.

it even says aram in the FAQ seems to be either not enabled yet coz ppl with voer 20+ wins dont get anything on aram or the percentage is in the single digits if even

I played some ARAM games and haven't got any key fragments. Some people say it's bugged and it's actually impossible to gey keys in ARAM. Is it true?

I got two keys on ARAM but can't seem to get the third, so just like SR! But yeah it looks like you can get the keys but not the chests on ARAM.

Yeah, the question is out of date. It was bugged, but they fixed it.

I wined almost 50 ARAM games in row and didint get any key or chest so plz dont say wrong things.

Play with friends, it gives more percentage for key. I have 6 full keys earned on Aram, now I need chests. Must I play only ranked Rift, or just standard rift?

Both normal and ranked reward chests for S ranks on champs you own.

One chest per champion per season though.

It was most likely a bug, but after an ARAM game i got the message "you must own this champion to gain a mastery." or some such. Which lead me to believe if I owned the champ I'd have gotten a chest.

Like I said, probably a bug.

I earn 2 fragments of key in ARAM, after winning like 7-8 games in SR, so yes, its possible to earn fragments in ARAM, but no chest

If it's a bug, it's not fixed still, but I don't believe it is a bug. I have earned 10 full keys and a fragment in ARAM games. Last fragment I got was tonight. So, best to look for actual riot posts to know for sure instead of going off the guesses of the masses.

I earned almost all of my keys and fragments IN ARAM. I would be first to tell you it works. (I also got program Lisandra from a chest in ARAM :3)
