The change to sheen was uncalled for
"One of the oldest items in the game, Sheen's ability power always made it a little awkward to use as a building block for other items (like Iceborn Gauntlet, which was always pretty confusing). Removing AP and adding cooldown reduction adds more synergies for the champions who want the Spellblade passive without forcing an often-'wasted' stat on them."
Awkward you say? that item had amazing synergy on these champions:

That is 20 champions in total. Most of them could make FULL use of all it stats, and the AP it granted early was a huge benefit for quite a few of them. This change makes it a poor choice for atleast half of them, the loss of that AP severely nerfs their early game potential and impairs there ability to carry potentially. Concerning
being "awkward",
and
did not find it awkward because they both got great benefit from ALL it stats. AP is not a "wasted" stat, but I will say that CDR is nice but in many cases it is the wasted stat because champion cooldowns are either low enough already, or certain champions just don't make use of abilities in their kit, thus they don't need CDR.
Its Ironic that it seems Riot has everything backwards this patch, from the SEVERE over-tuning of ADCs and all AD in general, to the heavy nerfs to AP, to this thinking AP is a wasted stat when more often than not, CDR is the wasted stat.
The reason why it seems awkward to your auto-attack champions, is because it was never for them. It was made for spammy champions who use abilities to do damage more than basic attacks. Most abilities have an AP ratio tied to it, that is why the item was perfect prior to this patch. It made sense, this change makes no sense.

made terrible use of the AP and I play her with a more CDR style focused play, so I really like it.
benefited a good bit too, both are more caster-esque carries.
