This game needs to be more like Sm4sh.
Before I make this argument...
I know that "Sm4sh has 55 characters while LoL has 91 127". I know that "LoL has items". Just hear me out for what I have to say.
Similar to League, Super Smash Bros. 4 has a constantly shifting tier list, buffs and nerfs to its characters, updates to improve experience, as well as a large player base. It has a large set of characters to choose from, while keeping them all with their own personality and moveset (except Ganondorf, fuck Ganondorf).
Here's the difference.
If a champion in League is nerfed or reworked, it is very possible that the ones who main them will become upset or leave the champion entirely, After Darius' rework, I didn't want anything to do with him, despite having played many games before with him. Same goes for Morde mains - board contributors like Master of Metal have shared their intense disliking for his rework. Meta sheep, who make up at least half of this game, care more about what is strong instead of what is fun or what they're good at.
In Sm4sh, mains play a character because they like or bond to their character. They enjoy the kit, the taunts, the animations and/or the personality, and stick to it. If it's nerfed, it's fine because it doesn't ruin their characters at all. You don't usually, if ever, see the same characters every time you play a For Fun or even For Glory with different people. Character popularity isn't determined by their tier, but rather the character itself. Nobody is abandoned or forgotten.
