When Tahm Kench's W kills an enemy champion, he should swallow the corpse

I've noticed that in-game, Tahm Kench doesn't even eat anything outright. I feel as if this would be a great new addition :D

Just like Fizz ultimate, except to any champion instead of just the tiny ones.

I demand this buff.

TahmKench - "Disgusting."

If it was disgusting alive I'd assume it's still disgusting dead.

+1 cause i read this in Tahm's voice

I read that in that dude from bloodborne's voice...

In my opinion, Tahm should spit out the BONES

or the scrap metalViktor Blitzcrank

or gooZac

He has to spit champs out first to do damage tho, so idk if this would even be possible :/

I think you could code it so that the animation proceeds differently wether or not the champion can be killed by the ability.

Remember Cho'Gath has a kill indicator on his ult so it's already possible to forsee such things.

Yes, except for the fact that stuff like Kalista ult can save someone in Tahm. Its probably stuff like that which is why it can't be done.

Just have it do it's damage instantly upon eating them.

I've heard about it, but I have yet to see it. Does only Cho'Gath get to see the spikes that are supposed to be in ground, or is it like Zed's ultimate where anyone can see it?

Xeynid1 votes

Cho'Gath does true damage, though, so it's possible that the spaghetti code in league can't handle "Ability X does this much damage to champion Y with this much health and Z amount of mr."

Crowe Stalker3 votes

I honestly don't understand why Riot coded it like that instead of having the damage apply after he swallows them (which it should realistically do on Champions, I understand why it is what it is on Minions)

ArmoredRogueTK1 votes

The best option is that the second cast to spit is instead a swallow if the damage will kill the enemy champion. Simple right?9

Rioter DanielZKlein was quoted regarding this exact topic on reddit, saying that "Yeah, but the problem is clarity. I think leaving corpses behind is really important to make people understand what just happened. Sorry!" https://www.reddit.com/r/leagueoflegends/comments/3awgkp/if_tahm_kench_kills_someone_with_his_w_make_him/

Sorry bro. Maybe they can be pursued in the future.

Which is really stupid.

You dont need to leave a fucking corpse behind to understand a character took lethal damage.

I dont even notice corpses in this game until AFTER a team fight is fully resolved. In which case I just look in the bottom right corner to see who is dead.

sp4413 votes

I think the big glowing blue light and the grey screen is enough indicator.

Westonbirt2 votes

And the YOU HAVE BEEN SLAIN.

Like seriously. This is coming from the same people who have hidden half the useful information of the HUD behind shitty minimalism.

Durzaka1 votes

I dont think they are refering to the person who died. I think they are talking about the rest of the players in the game.

still stupid.

sp4411 votes

I think the sky lady saying "YOU HAVE SLAIN AN ENEMY" and the aforementioned big glowing blue light is still a pretty good indicator.

Ramza Paradise1 votes

completely agree, basically just riot pulling a bullshit answer out of their ass, similar to why we can't get a sandbox mode because "everyone will grind it for hours!!"

i guess an icon flashing up that someone was killed, a timer in the bottom corner, pressing tab, hearing an audio que isn't enough. gotta see that dead body. lol.

Chogath actually swallows the bodies of the yordles he kills with his ult. Tahm should do the same.

KoKoboto2 votes

Same with cho'gath ultimate!

when chogath kills someone with his ult... he literally eats the target

The corpse stays though, even when you use it for execute

BuzzinTate2 votes

He doesnt kill them in one bite, he nom nom noms on them

Jet Sett2 votes

We could have it so instead of spitting them out after reactivating the ability he swallows them if they're going to die after the damage, that way anything that would prevent can get through so long as Kench doesn't kill them first.

The last time we asked for that, a Rioter said : "The players need to know where they died"... but Fizz is allowed to feed his shark with yordles...

And Annie last I checked. Although I think they changed this recently...

I had a game yesterday where I was ziggs and teamed with a tk i got ignited near death and he tried to save me with W, but my body disappeared after i died... i ended up being a snack item 3070 item 3070

Elijah Prophet2 votes

I think if the champion dies in his stomach, nothing should get spit out TahmKench

Koldheartedjsp1 votes

fizzs shark eats yordles so why not

Ramza Paradise1 votes

I was surprised after playing Tahm for the first time that this wasn't what happened. Seems like a missed opportunity. Probably too much work or something, but makes 10000% sense.

Jingerbeardman1 votes

there is actually some information given when a corpse is on the field as when it disappears it tells you that they have ressed and will be back soon. thats kind of why something like this probably wouldnt happen. not a terrible idea though.

Regulus Lyon1 votes

Given that we now have timers readily available to us on the screen, I don't think this is really necessary. Plus there's a few champions that don't leave corpses behind anyway - or when Fizz kills small champions with ult it devours corpses.

Jingerbeardman1 votes

this is true, and i forgot about that interaction with fizz ult. the other big reason it wouldnt work well on tahm though is that he can still spit out a minion even if it kills it, and there is a debuff when he eats an enemy champs as well.

Dragonlord71371 votes

I love how I proposed this change a long time ago (about two weeks after he came out) and everyone said that it was a terrible idea and would ruin his theme.

"Corpses are a good signal of where a champion has died" Said the Rioter on Tahm kenches Q and A. They won't do it for this dry point.

Conturbatio1 votes

Yes, and also, when Final Boss Veigar's R kills an enemy, it should completely consume them (exactly what his Q does to minions).

Tahm Kenchs Model should go bigger if the person he swallows is bigger than him and his model size resets when he dies.

ahferroin71 votes

+1, but cho'gath's ult should do so also. On a side note, Fizz's ult used to do this for small champs (like yordles or annie).

SoMNia1 votes

Tahm does no damage on W first cast. He has to spit things out to kill them. It can't really work.
