"Lul (insert KD)" is not a valid counterargument

When I play normals, I branch out. As a result, it's not uncommon for me to lose lane due to being unfamiliar with my champion.

Thing is, some people equate KD with IQ, and refuse to listen to even the most basic of logic, either because their ego is inflated by their KD or because they disregard valid advice from allies.

For example, in an ARAM from last month, a bronze player got Heimerdinger. I am a mastery 7 Heimerdinger, but I got stuck with Kat since this guy wouldn't trade. I didn't do horribly, but I also didn't contribute hugely.

This Heim played horribly. He bunched all his turrets within 200 units of each other in the middle of the lane. He spammed E without turrets for harass. He didn't buy boots. I told him several times exactly what the problems was, and he responded with one of three things.

Fucker legit said his lack of boots and Zhonyas didn't matter because "They can't get to me in the first place" despite the enemy team having divers. Was tilted. We won, and he was the most sarcastic prick I've seen in a while.

well who is right here depends on what happened in the game and what champs they had... if they weren't getting/to killing him then he was fine with not building boots or zhonyas, and if he never ran oom there is no downside to using grenade for poke. there are many games i've played where you can easily get away with not building boots and after all zhonyas is situational

i think just as you say people shouldn't exert arrogance off k/d alone, you also shouldn't because someone isn't following the guide of how to play that you are especially if his effectiveness wasn't compromised with his build/playstyle
