Azir and counterplay

I'm going to preface this with the statement that azir is stupidly overpowered right now, and let you gnash your teeth about that while reading.

Azirs abilites offer little to no counterplay, from his q, which moves too fast to dodge without a flash type ability, to his soldiers that use attack/hit mechanics in an aoe allowing him to free farm while harrassing you (even under your own tower!)

Azir is a heavily skill based champion though, making it very easy to suck donkey balls with him, and his low win ratio is misleading because of this. And while to some extent I can agree that very difficult to use champions should have an edge over simple to use champions, the degree of strength should not be double the pre-nerfed kayle damage was. Seriously crack must have been smoked to come up with a 60% ability power ratio auto attack to an area on a champion that gains naturally high attack speed.

Even lowering the damage isn't necessarily the solution, as you can still be targeted under your tower, where normally melee champions, that are incredibly overshadowed by his skillset, would be able to huddle up and farm. His soldiers should be targetable, or move slower, or simply follow him and augment his own attacks, not be autoattacking at a distance of 1250 under the enemy tower.

I love Azir, play him all the time, but I do agree that he's a bit too strong. I think the simplest change to cut his power would be to reduce his base attack speed slightly (keep in mind that it's already low for a mage).

This would have scaling affects on his lategame sustained damage since changes in base apply multiplicatively with his passive and any attack speed items he buys (such as nashors). This would make him more reliant on his casting and he would deal less sustained damage with his soldiers between Qs. It would also indirectly nerf the furor boot enchantment that's so damn good on him =P

i love when the enemy dives under your passive tower even when they see you put it up lol

I only faced Azir twice and on both of them I was playing as Katarina. I just lured him to use his Q and as soon as I dodge that, I jumped on him. This was especially effective under my turrets as then he can't use his E to pull himself. Plus I found him to be really vulnerable to ganks everytime he used his Q. But the time it takes to create a soldier is completely ridiculous tho. On one game we were at their nexus, he spawns, flashes behinds us and uses R, pushing to fountain and turning us to potato mush.

You can juke his Q's to some extent if you make your movements unpredictable. He does lack some counterplay, but also keep in mind he can only move his soldiers so often during the laning phase and he has no finish potential unless you let him finish you off.
