Ranked Games Rant Post (possibly last topic)

hello everyone who bothers reading. with the boards on it's way to the grave i figured i should post one more ranked rant post to show everyone how horrid ranked is and why you should not do it. if you do not wish to read then feel free to leave. i will not stop you. rant incoming in

every year when a new ranked season comes around all players who get involved focus on one thing and one thing only: winning. they don't give a fuck about anything else and expect others on their team to go by the meta book and if they aren't they report them with no fucks given. and if something jeopardizes their ranked they lose their minds and throw tantrums about it. players put in way too much effort for only a mere game. all the kda, vision management, cs management, item build, rune build, etc, all in hopes of having a higher rank than anyone else. and for what? some dingy icon and a skin for a champion who more than likely has a better one. and worse than that players who are in ranked try and flash their ranks like some police badge thinking it gives them power to talk down on those of lower rank. outside of league your ranks mean absolutely nothing. league is suppose to be a game. but players treat it as a way of life. devoting themselves to it to try and master this game. but with how often the meta changes that can never happen. and this competitive attitude is the source of all toxic behavior in league. when competitive and non-competitive players mix then bad things happen. no matter what game mode they always mix. and this happens every season. what i am saying is players make a big deal out of something that gives almost nothing in return for it. if ranked gave like RP or actual prize money then i could understand but you get nothing out of it except an icon and a cheap skin. this is why i will never be competitive in league and why i talk so ill about ranked players. competitive players don't see it as a game. they see it as a war. and they want to win.
