You know what the real Freelo is?

Playing a terrible champion and getting good with them

They'll never get nerfed and nobody will know how to play against them because they're never played.

Message of the day: the freelo is deep inside your heart, my son. All you have to do is dig deep and find it.

Where is the fun in that. I'd love to get jinx, she looks fun, but I'm so tired of seeing her all the time, I dont want her.

I don't know about you guys but I've been having so much fun steamrolling over botlanes as Taric it's ridiculous.

Sinlaire1 votes

exactly. everyone is under this impression that Taric sucks because he's.... Taric or something, dunno. Then you get in game and R+ Glitterball the sh*t out of their carries all game and suddenly you get mad respect.

from that one team. and then the next time you pick him it's square 1 again.

Sounds like the potential for some movie inspirational quote

Ori support is hilarious and i love it. It's best when you have a Yasuo. Just stick the ball on him, let him engage, ult, wumbo combo.

Battlefield control supports. Very fun to play.

I hardcore mained hecarim before people new about him.

My name was even Hecaram.

I went 9-1 in my provisionals with only hecarim, placed in G3, then some idiot picked him in LCS. We saw a new rise 'Hecarim mains' and i had to quit playing my favorite champion.

I proceeded to pick up nautilus. I would play him any role. Then some idiot picked him in the LCS.

Now I simply gave up.

...sounds like my kind of champion, actually. Is he top or mid now?

SH Azykan1 votes

he is better top as long as you don't get camped imo (once farmed enough let them try to 2 v 1 you and you can be certain to pull out ahead)

It depends

Anything with a gap closer can absolutely wreck him early on when he's at his weakest. If you can manage to survive 1-4 without getting zoned too hard or chunked, he starts ramping up hard. But then the ganks come into play.

I really wish they would've pursued the HP AP fighter/bruiser Morde concept more and worked the numbers out, it would've made him perfect for top lane.

BastionKross2 votes

It's pretty easy to make him tanky and preserve a lot of his damage. With the removal of DFG, AP Morde lost a lot of his viability. (Well, as much as he had to lose anyway.) His ratios are pretty lackluster, so building tons of AP on him without the damage amp of DFG isn't worth it any more. What he does have is great base damages, which lends itself more toward magic pen. Not saying to avoid any AP on him completely, but try to prioritize Mpen.

His shield will also take less damage the more resistances you have, so resistances are actually more important for him than HP is. Again, you can still build some HP on him and be alright, but resistances enhance your shield, and your shield should be deciding if you live or die due to how his kit is designed.

Try going for a build like item 3001 item 3020 item 3068 to start out a game with; prioritizing armor or MR as needed of course. The passive of the scepter actually helps the sunfire passive be more effective, and since you're a melee mage you'll usually be right in the middle of a fight to shred the MR of most of the enemy team. Grab some CDR runes to make sure you're constantly doing damage and regenerating your shield, and you'll be surprisingly durable.

Du Ma Mi1 votes

Yes and no. I picked him up recently, and started to play him a lot Mid/Top. For Top lane, if you aren't getting fed and snowballing, that's a pretty good description of what you should do. If you're up a kill (after building spellvamp) go for a Luden's Echo, and you're Q+E combo will burst anyone down, and an R should secure the kill (again, assuming you're snowballing). Plus you're farming will be insane. On mid, though, I find a more AP-Based item kit works better (still go for void staff and Sorcerer's Boots, for enough Magic Pen). With tons of AP and a little magic pen, your opposing laner won't have time to go through your shield, because you're Q+E+R has already killed them. Resistances aren't a bad thing to have, but if you've got some tanky front-liners, I'd suggest just going for AP items and a GA/Rylai's/Something Defensive.

BastionKross1 votes

To be fair, just about any champion's build will differ if they get fed.

However, Morde's ratios are pretty terrible as far as burst mages go. They have to be, because they're AoE. His Q has a .4 ratio if the target isn't isolated. (It actually scales better with AD since it's an auto attack modifier, giving it a 1.0 AD ratio) His E has a very modest .6, and his W has a .9 if you stand next to someone for the entire duration. (Good luck with that on a 0 mobility champion like Mordy)

Those ratios are a far cry from other burst mages. His base damages, on the other hand, rival that of tanks. They're very high, to the point where you would need 416 AP just to have the scaling match the base damage on his rank 5 E. His Q is even worse, requiring 500 AP to tie the base damage you get just for maxing it out if the target isn't isolated.

While building AP isn't bad, Mpen will actually give you more damage in the early-mid game for less gold cost against most enemy champions. In addition, being a melee mage like Morde means that you need more than just pure damage, you need to be able to take a hit. Mpen items like item 3001 item 3136 give you tank stats, a large boost to damage, and for much cheaper than some combination of item 3285 item 3157 or item 3089. Those items do have their place on Morde, but they're situational and it wouldn't be prudent to rush them.

I like him in either role, honestly it depends on who your opponent is. Mord shits on assassins, and with Luden's Echo you don't even need to chase them to kill them with your ult anymore. Ult them, maybe hit one spell then spam spells as they run away, Luden's procs on the ult ticks and you get a free assassin

To be fair, low tier heroes are annoying too...>_>

Just play your fave. If they're common, who cares? As long as they aren't perma-ban, just pick what you like. I play Sona support in this tank meta, but I play Jinx for adc, who's really dang common (unless I see a bad match-up and desire Caitlyn instead). It's not bad to like something that's common. It's bad to circle jerk over picking something that's uncommon/bash someone's face into glass because they aren't using something that's common.

Doesn't even have to be a terrible or never picked champion, just one that's not meta.

The support meta is basically Leona, Thresh, Morgana, Blitz, and Annie, so if you pick any champion that's not one of those, people will struggle, especially if they're not a support main. Nami is around the middle of champion popularity, and has never been 'meta', but because people only see her once every 20 or so games (and probably lane against her less), then a lot of people dunno how to deal with her, so you basically get free lanes a whole load of the time which you can then convert into late game.

EvilRabbitt1 votes

The problem is when your adc doesn't know what to do with the support. I can never max e with a passive adc, it's exhausting as nami. Love her though, she is my number 1 support. Followed by shaco support. No one expects the boxes BD

VazEzren1 votes

"she is my number 1 support." As a Nami main I agree, she brings an insane amount of utility to small skirmishes and teamfights alike. If your enemy is stupid enough to group up and let you land a 5-man bubble+ult then they usually lose. You can also use that bubble to single out assassins when they are most vulnerable (ie: Kat during her ult, Zed just as he comes out of his ult, Yi after alpha strike, Fizz after his playful/trickster), it takes a LOT of practice and REALLY good timing to land those bubbles, but it can turn fights around by eliminating a key threat. Ebb and Flow provides great healing potential to 1 or 2 allies while damaging 1 or 2 enemies; It can quickly turn the tide of a 2v3 bot lane in your favor. Also the Tidecaller's Blessing is great for helping your ADC farm/last hit, and if your ADC isn't worthy enough to use it on, then use it yourself to kite/trade enemies while dealing decent damage. I always max E second after Ebb and Flow and use it to trade with the enemy ADC/Support, or if my ADC has all 3 people chasing them and they ignore me I'll use it to slow them down a bit. She has good synergy with most ADCs, the only one I haven't really played with is Urgot. She doesn't do as well with ability based ADCs but she can still work well with them.

Have fun! -Vaz-

EvilRabbitt2 votes

A NAMI PLAYER?!?!?!?!? <3 <3 <3

I go full ap on her. The power it gives far outweighs how much "item utility" she loses. When my adc pumps 600 damage via my e on top of the crits and I can assassinate assassins...ugh the joys. But how do you get your adc to use your E q.q? Mine never do. Its like "bubbles? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s7IYR_rELyE bubbles!?!?"

VazEzren1 votes

Hahaha, that "bubbles!?" part is pretty accurate sometimes. I like to try and deny the enemy ADC farm sometimes by using bubbles and when I'm playing with random people they think that they are supposed to engage on every single bubble unless we're running away, even if the enemy minion wave is like 30 creeps big and ours is like 3.

As far as using the E goes I usually cast it on people when they are already auto attacking or I play with a handful of friends who are used to my supporting so when they see those 3 little balls orbiting them they know to go in hard because we're about to either make some plays or do some serious trading. Also if your ADC throws off an auto attack, there's a short window you can give them your E before the projectile hits and it will still proc the E, even though your E was applied after the projectile was launched.

I haven't actually tried full AP Nami yet since usually I have to build at least a few support items to help the team, like item 2049 , item 3222 , and item 3190 . I have heard stories of the carnage that it is capable of though, I never get to go mid lane though and that's probably the only place I would end up trying it. Unless my team is like 10+kills ahead and 3 towers ahead, then sometimes I build Mejai's just for fun, 20 stack Mejai's on Nami is terrifying.

I fuckin love you OP.

I took your advice today and took Olaf jungle. He's rarely played anymore, and people seem to underestimate him. His ult makes ganking ezpz as enemies can't stop him with cc. A combo of his Q and Chilling Smite turns ganks into kills. Late game I build him bruiser and throw myself at the enemy team. I kill the prioritized target, ult my way out and win the game.

I won 6 games in a row Olaf jungle.
