Can we please disable new champions in ranked for the first week?

I know that's why they are increased in cost in IP for the first week or two (not sure which one it is off the top of my done). But let's be real, that doesn't stop people from either accessing their mothers credit cards or just spending the extra IP anyway and it's annoying as shit to have to carry these players in ranked who have no idea what they're doing on this champion (not to mention its likely most people won't know how to fight them).

Before anyone says "but CGS, PBE bro, PBE!!" Yeah, no. In ranked, even in lower elos, you're playing against actual people. In PBE, you're playing against carrots and potatoes.

So please, make this a thing riot.

Never gonna happen. You can't force people to not play a champion just because it is new. Plus, it doesn't take a full week to be more than competent at a champion. 2-3 days is all you really need to be decent at any champion.

Umm...Champions are not 7800 IP the first week so that people don't play them in ranked. The people high enough and those that play enough have plenty of IP to spend. It's 7800 IP for those who don't yet have all the champions and would rather spend their IP more cost effectively so they buy it with RP which makes Riot money.

Really awesome idea. I hate going into a ranked game with someone playing a brand-new champion and ending up doing bad due to their lack of knowledge for that champion.

IP increase for first week was to offset the reduced IP cost for older champs each new release

Every time a new champion is created... Jesus christ. It's bad enough to blame a teams loss on one person, it's even worse to blame it on someone who wasn't even trolling and rather just playing what they want to play. Wtf is the difference between that and then someone deciding to buy Shyvana for the first time and try her out in a ranked game. It's the same thing.

It won't fix anything.

I myself am the scumbag who tries out new champions in ranked. Its like windows patches, you may put the update on hold, but eventually you'll need to update. I'll just play kindred when shes available.

My best advice, is just wait 2-3 days. This way it doesn't effect you as often, let it die down.
