Like there are armor items that help tank supports and there are items that give both MR and armor, but there are 0 items that help supports, mask is not good due to the low range and the passive does not do much for them. It sucks when there is a magic heavily team and you are a tank support or when a magic champ is fed and you can't build anything vs them.
Zz'rot should also be included. Mikael's maybe. And part of the reason, is that the main damage threat in bottom lane is traditionally from an ADC.

if you say you cant count it because it gives armor then no true magic resist items exist in this game because they all mixed with something else ad, attack speed, health, armor
You can keep dismissing Locket for its 30 armor but its double the MR value. This is designed for anti MR and helps stop burst.
Read your post, I see your responces. To bad, You need to apply context of the game. Items have multiple stat you cant dismiss them because you feel like it.
You can build Locket vs magic damage champions. The Sheild acts as effective HP and the MR from the item enhances the value of the shield vs magic damage.
If your struggling with a mage any reason your not doing mercs?

If you read the board long enough, you'll hear complaints about there not being enough MR itemization in general. I'm guessing this is just a part of that issue.
