Riot what are these nerfs?

I would like to preface this by saying if a champion should or shouldn't be nerfed is irrelevant here (but mordekaiser really should be nerfed)

I was looking at the upcoming nerfs and buffs and it's like wtf are those nerfs THEY DO NOTHING and it makes me question just how the balance team makes changes.

Like leona lost fucking 10 DAMAGE on her maxed w that is so fucking meaningless like maybe if it was like 40 or something but she is still pretty tanky and has so much cc so the reasons she is good don't change. Sett also lost 10 damage on his w like he has more nerfs then just that BUT why 10 damage on his max ranked w that doesn't do anything even with the rest of the nerfs. Like leona and sett w's will still do basically the same damage as before like 10 damage is fucking low.

The ekko nerfs don't seem to do anything either like wtf is riot doing?

Riot if you're going to nerf a champion THEN ACTUALLY MAKE THEM WEAKER like you're just wasting time with nerfs this small.

I wanted to make the same point, but you got to it first...

-5 Movement speed (cough) Kassadin

Oof, I agree with you that meta doesn't change with these besides probably seeing sett less :/ But usually riot starts out with small nerfs and then clobbers the champ if the next patch goes by and they are still top tier So I have a little hope And morde actually needs his last nerfs reverted so they can meaningfully nerf him vs melees as well as ranged

The process behind buffs and nerfs is to attempt small changes in order to avoid completely gutting or over tuning champions.

Sometimes a small change is enough to put a champion in a somewhat balanced and acceptable state.

When a champion continues to over perform in league, they sometimes, not always, end up gutted. But it generally takes Riot months, or even an entire year, to reach that conclusion.

Nerfing Ekko's base AS makes him take longer to clear the jungle considering he has to actually hit monsters to kill them.

Now if they REALLY wanted to make him less powerful in the jungle all they needed to do was to remove or nerf the bonus damage on his passive while also dialling back the W buff (which they've done).

Sett got a 4 second increased CD on his W which is massive, so while the ability still does a lot of damage with a slight damage nerf, if he misses it once he's fucked allowing for actual counter-play. Also Leonas W reduces ALL damage by 10 so thats actually pretty fucking huge, if you knew how to play the game.

Nerfs are for making a champion weaker and putting them in a more reasonable state, they're suppose to still be strong and useful, they're not out to gut them and make them useless, why the fuck would they do that?

Did you that the time they removed -3 AD from vayne she dropped almost 3% winrate?

You are technically wrong on the sett nerfs, his max rank w cd is up 4 seconds and thats huge.As for the rest, expect more 5 movement speed nerfs to broken champions.

Same was said before Aphelios changes last patch, but it dropped him from 50% wr to 48% wr.

I'll also never forget the patch Graves recieved -3 AD as a nerf and it dropped him from 52%~ wr to 49-50%~ wr, sometimes small changes have a big impact on champions.

Will all these changes have the desired effect? doubt it, i would also further nerf them, but i'd take that over getting champion's "olaf'd" and put on the freezer.
