How do you beat Rek'Sai in lane as a melee?

While I will admit, top lane is not my strongest lane (I main Support and Mid, but I want to get better at other roles) and picking Sion in it when I haven't played top in a while was not the best idea- I found myself at a loss for how to beat Rek'Sai. I did get first-blooded and I admit I missed my abilities but at the same time- I just couldn't figure out what to do against her. Put another way, I know when I went wrong (such as missing a Q) but I don't know what to do right against her to not constantly be losing against her.

Trading basically didn't work since Rek'Sai would automatically get a knock-up when burrowed, claw and bite me for some true damage, and then burrow away to heal up whatever damage she took from my attacks. Even when dead I couldn't catch her since she moved faster than I did thanks to her burrows.

We did eventually win thanks to the enemy trying to backdoor our 300 HP nexus and winning the ensuing teamfight with our huge Zed- but lane was just not going well for me at all. Can I get some suggestions for how to deal with Rek'Sai in lane? Or was this one of those, "Hang tight and wait for teamfights" situations? Because we definitely did start doing better once we reached that point.

you can start by not playing sion top lane because he is outclassed by every other top laner right now.

Yeah, I was originally going to use Poppy (ironically this would've made it an easy lane) but I had the thought of, "I wonder if Sion top works as well as support"?

I've played him support with plenty of success, but top was a chore and I was not enjoying the experience at all.

Id start with saying dont go in with a tank because Rek's fury E does TD my dude. Maybe a beefy figher? Or even a ranged Fighter.

Jayce, Gnar and such.

Both of which can disengage if rek tries to come in on them, and could trade reasonably. REk sai only has 1 ranged ability and her base stats are meh.
